    Post rogue/fighter/pally

    Im looking at making a viable trapmonkey rogue but descent melee damage. At this stage was thinking along the lines of 3 pally, 4 fighter rest rogue but am definitely open to this. To be honest never really attempted anything like this ive only done pure class builds so any help or advice is appreciated. Looking at going TWF so main stats would end up being strength,dex, con, int to start with some boosts to charisma to use the pally lvls to make up on will saves. Like I said any and all of this is open really. So id need an idea of how many lvls in each class people recommend and at what lvl I take them. Only done a brief one up to lvl 7 myself so far *with the improved veteran status thingy* Equipment advice is also welcome but not 100% necessary im sure I can figure the majority of that out :L also what weapons people recommend with the TWF


    As i said i made the lvl 7 version and this is what ive got so far

    Human

    starting stats:
    str:16
    dex:15
    con:14
    int:14
    wis:8
    cha:10

    1st lvl rogue
    feats: toughness, two weapon fighting

    2nd lvl fighter
    feats:weaponfocus slashing

    3rd,4th and 5th lvl paladin
    feats:nimble fingers
    ability increase strength to 17

    6th lvl fighter
    feats:two weapon defence, power attack

    7th lvl rogue.

    main rogue skills at this lvl pre buffs, enhancements and gear are
    DD:15
    OL:14.5
    SEARCH:13

    Any advice in varitaion of feats or lvls are welcome. I also intend to use a +2 to everything tome after i finalise and round out the character abit which will boost things too. Enhancements ive done up but figure might be an overload of information to put on here so if anyone has any advice on that too feel free

    When it comes to sneak atk DPS, nothing beats a pure TWF Assassin. So when it comes to MCing a rogue, you're sacrificing SA DPS for other things, whether it's extra feats, better survivability (e.g., more HPs, higher saves w/Divine Grace), possibly some spellcasting, or whatnot.

    I like rog 13 as a breakpoint for MCed rogues: that gets you 7d6+12 base SA dmg (more if you go Assassin), two rog bonus feats (Imp Evasion & Opportunist being the best choices), and plenty of skill pts, ofc. It also lets you add Imp Sneak Atk epic feat for +3d6 SA dmg, presuming you can hit DEX 21 for it. See my Triple A, Divine Swashbuckler, and Three Ring Circus threads for examples.

    I didnt think about the epic feats thats a good point, so 13 lvls of rogue to qualify for that. I took a look at your divine swashbuckler build and i defintely like the look of it though im alittle hesitant with the weapon finese side of things, just from my limited understanding and what ive heard from people it seems disliked as a whole lol. So with that build obviously its drow as the race which i dont mind so ill defintley keep an eye on it. Thanks for the help : )

    I haven't updated that build in a long while; at this point I would take Precision instead of (or in addition to) Finesse. And no, DEX / Finesse builds don't get much respect, because (A) there aren't a lot of weapons which use DEX instead of STR for dmg (tho the good news is 5 of them are short swords which mesh w/drow racial weapon enhs), (B) there are more ways of boosting STR than DEX in DDO, and (C) while AC & Reflex saves are important, they're not so important that it makes sense to go DEX-based most of the time.

    What can I say, though, I like gimping myself in the name of variety.

    DEX builds are getting some nice perks in the Enhancement overhaul, particularly rogues & rgrs. So I'm hopeful DEX builds like my Swashbuckler will become less gimpy, if nothing else.

    I just discovered character planner and im in love :P ive made 2 variations of the above build line and was hoping i could get some feed back on them. Also while these are done as human im still open to other suggestions and any advice on the builds im about to post would be awesome. Also still no idea what sort of weapon to go with, at this stage looking at scimitar but ive heard khopesh is good, is it worth the feat to take it?

    check out my dust ninja build, if you are a new player I suggest you switch out a little bit of int or charisma for more con, because HP is the biggest downside to my build and it will hurt you if you don't have equipment to patch that up. Otherwise it works out pretty well. This build is made to do melee dps rather then sneaking up on stuff and at the same time you will have plenty of saves against traps/aoe magic and hold/command stuff. On top of that you should be able to use heal scrolls by the time you hit level 16 (14 earliest with proper gear) for well over 250hp heals.
