Couple of us been screwing around with this ruleset for "Toy Soldiers PD" guild on Wayfinder:

1. Roll 1d2 for your gender.
2. Roll 1d8 for your race. If you have any unavailable races, then subtract that number from die roll and roll 1d8-[number races you don't have]. Alphabetical order to your roll [of your available races] is your starting race.
3. Roll 1d13 for your class. If you have any unavailable classes, then subtract that number from die roll and roll 1d13-[number of races you don't have]. Alphabetical order to your roll [of your available classes] is your starting class.
4. Roll 1d6 for your alignment. If your class disqualifies you for any alignments, then subtract that number from die roll. Paladins are uber cool and get to roll 1d1 of course.

Now, pretty much standard perma death rules apply. Use what you find, etc. Zerg to level 2! But before you level:

5. Roll 1dx for the number of classes available to you. Now use that class for level up.

Now zerg to level 3.

6. Roll 1dx for the number of classes available to you. Now use that class for level up.

Repeat until you level cap or die!

OK this has been a lot of fun. So far, best we did we got just one quest shy of level 5 and group wiped (only two of us in group). I have to say there is a fair amount of excitement and laughter as people roll for their build and levels.

We are playing couple of hours on weekend if anyone wants to give it a try look for a Toy Soldiers PD on Wayfinder or send RTFM a message on Khyber.
