I might not necessarily boot a trapper that cannot trap, but I would wonder why they are not investing in a skill that limits the amount of XP that the group gets. As I stated, this is a BYOH discussion, not about playing at full potential. As Karavek (sp) said, if I was that worried about always getting the extra 15% disarm bonus, I should have invested. This was just a side note in the discussion. With a BYOH LFM, you simply expect that you will byoh. I can still assume that everyone in the party will be worthless, but at the least I would hope that they would BYOH.
The other week I joined a BYOH doing the cultist base. We started, were zerging quickly, and the rogue kept flying through with the group. When we got to the jump down with all the traps, the rogue DC’ed. When he came back we were near the end waiting to go into the final room. The rogue ran to us, when the PL (not me) said “go disable the traps for the extra xp”. The trapper says “this is byoh, and byotrapping”. A few of us thought this was a joke and that he was going back to get the traps, but no, he opened the door and started the last fight. Of course we ask what the H was going on. The PL (not me) tells the group that once this quest was completed, we would reform and short man the rest of the chain.
The main point of this post is that the rogue assumed too much. The LFM says byoh ONLY. He agreed to byoh, but he refused to trap because he did not like BYOH. Why the H did he join? These are the idiot trappers that I yell at. Bringing their attitude to a group like that will warrant the same from me.
