Default Monk: Sting of the Ninja + Vorpal Strikes

Is Vorpal Strikes supposed to qualify as being able to do slashing damage for Sting of the Ninja or not?

    Sting of the Ninja
    Target: Self
Weapon Stance: You poison your weapon with a secret mixture. While you are centered, piercing and slashing attacks you make deliver a stack of Ninja Poison on critical hits. Shuriken apply this effect on damage instead of on critical hits. Unarmed combat requires a set of handwraps for this to apply (as well as a way to deal piercing or slashing damage).

I would think this will work, as will any of the Brawling Gloves from Crystal Cove (piercing). Would be nice to see a set of handwraps that add this, or an optional feat to gain slashing.

Based on the wording, vorpal strikes should enable sting of the ninja. However, it doesn't. It is enabled with Ivy Wraps, which have piercing. I haven't tested with the brawler gloves.

Sadly sting of the ninja is just plain awful with low crit range weapons, and will add minuscule dps. On shurikens however this is amazing, and finally makes throwers viable!

That being said the poison needs to be changed to a supernatural poison or something, because when you run into a poison immune mob your shuriken dps drops to like 20% or less vs a non poisoned mob.

The best weapons for a ninja spy monk are actually dual shorts words from the Fot raid. Upgrade one to 20% fort bypass, and the other keep at only 15% bypass (dif numbers stack). That way you can still keep the amazing sun soul set bonus (earth stance -25% damage is amazing) as you won't need black dragon armor. A level 20 monk will have a 40% chance to crit with those shortswords, proving allot of poison!
