    Default Defensive Strikes needs to go.

    Why:It is incredibly overpowered.
    How: because the 40% off hand penalty has no reduction on Monkchers and Centred 2HF - which need no help. 100 PRR in pyjamas is easily attainable while in full DPS mode.

    This needs to be removed/neutered sooner rather than later before everyone builds for it and is nerfed when you realize your mistake. It kills build diversity. Anyone that says otherwise does not understand the mechanics of this game.

    It definitely needs some changes to make it balanced. I don't see why it has to be completely removed though.

    I think options are:

    1. Change it to a movement penalty (everyone will still use it though....).

    2. Nerf the magnitude of bonus (> than the whole defender tree, really?).

    3. If we really want super staff tanks then switch the 2 enhancements to tier 5. That way you can be the super staff tank but can't do it with an ESOS and can't pick up any other juicy tier 5 enhancements.

    4. Leave it the way it is and encourage staff using juggernauts (and fighter 12/monk 6/pal 2, but I think the juggernaut will be stronger).

    It just needs to go I think.

    Was late last night and I forgot to add;

    1. Shiradi wizards with 2 monk levels rockin twilight in ocean/earth(Maybe with the extra feats for higher stances)... Take an extra 50PRR and 5% dodge. Mine is dodge capped anyhow but with the item changes I wouldn't be due to loss of max available. This puts me right back at max. Very little trade off with the arcane trees being terrible.

    2. 5% Dodge AS WELL as the PRR. Dodge capped 100 PRR melees in full DPS mode make Sword and board plate wearing tanks extinct. What's the point?

    it cannot stand as it is.

    It offers more defense than all of stalwart defender.

    it offers no negatives to casters or two-hander fighters or casters.

    it's dirt cheap.

    I originally proposed a 40% movement penalty as it's change, but the more I think about this it should be changed to a -20 damage to all melee, ranged, and spell attacks.

    Turbine . . . think about this for a second . . . we have power-gamers telling you something needs to be nerfed.

    How broken does something have to be for us to shine a light on it?

    Obviously this will get changed to at least affect all combat types including two handed melee and ranged combat. I am a little nervous about the spell caster implications such as a 18 wizard 2 monk perhaps they could decrease the casting time of spells by 40%, but that would hurt self healing multi classed builds as well which is not a good thing so it is unclear how best the devs should proceed although a very good capstone for the spellcasters is one way to make this decision difficult.

    Er they should for archery and thf make a 20% attack speed penalty or whatever 40% offhand attacks correspond to from a dps standpoint for archer and thf.
