Default Changes I think should be made to the new enhancement system

This whole enhancement pass has left me severely disappointed.

    I still can't figure out why it's not a 7 Tree system.

When I look at it, I've found a lot of the "old enhancements" have been taken from a generic class based ability, and pushed into a prestige. The decision to push formerly generic abilities into specific prestiges has very much been a reason for negativity, as it's obvious to anyone familiar with the "old enhancement system", it's decreased build choices and increased enhancement costs. I don't understand the reasoning behind this decision, nor do I see many benefits.

What I would like to see with this new UI is a 7 tree system.

    1 racial Tree
3 class trees (ie. fighter, monk, wizard, not kensai, shintao, palemaster)
3 prestige trees (pure builds benefit vs live as they could pick from all 3 trees, multi class builds have to make a choice which 3/9 they end up selecting)

Abilities like action boosts, +1 power attack damage, spell power, spell crits, exalted smites etc. should have be in the generic class tree. (much like on live)

The prestige trees should only be filled with prestige abilities eg. palemaster forms, stalwart defensive stance, kensai power surge etc. Stacking boosts to stats, skills, dodge, AC, PRR, spell power, action boosts etc. would be a nice way to fill in the prestige trees as well.

There's no reason this New Ui could work for my envisioned system, but for it to really work point requirements need to be calculated across all trees.

atm it IS a 7 tree system
you can have 1 racial and 6 class trees (don't forget to click the arrow to the side to go to the next slot)

though it's still a pretty bad system imo
base mechanic is too limiting, needs to be opened up more
and less junk enhancements as well as sorry excuses for enhancements *COUGHTANGLEFOOTCOUGH*
PS: Greensteel RUINED the game! and you all know it!
    less buffing, more nerfing!!!
to make it easier for those of you that wants to avoid me in game, all my characters are in "Bladesworn Mercenaries"

At the moment there are no Class trees, there are only prestige trees.

It's one of my biggest gripes with the new system, all of the old class based abilities have been lost into prestiges.

yes!!!!! We need class trees!!! My main complain is that the enhancements needed for a class are spread in several trees. And then tier 5 inaccessible in more than one tree, blocking skills that my character needs because they are randomly distributed in different trees. This is terrible and all my builds are screwed for this.

The new system have other problems, but this is the main. Class trees and smaller prestige trees is ok. I have said this a lot of times since alpha. We need class trees!!! Spread general enhancements between trees is not sense!!!

+1, fTdOmen. It's common sense. I dont' understand why devs can not see this. The interface is ok. Seven trees. Now, you give us class trees.
English is not my native language. Sorry for the mistakes.

I totally agree, both pure's and multi's get hi by this new system

pures will have to multi pre to get general enhancements and multis hve to pick form so many trees its ridicules, both breaking versatility and customisation.

bring in general class enhancement trees where u can unlock pres at the 5th rank like it is in the racial tree (ellf).

I honestly can't help but feel this suggestion has come too late in the development cycle to be of any use though.

It's a pity, because I was thinking how easy it'd be to put the devotion lines for ranger / pally in their generic class trees.
I was even thinking how fighter would get the action boosts, then wondering if the prestige could get a stacking boost eg kensai haste boost adds +5% attack speed per tier to fighter haste boost.

If generic class trees are not going to happen, here is another way to fix the versailtility.

Add in generic classgroup trees (caster/melee/specialist)
all would have only 4 tiers (like racial trees), and only one core to unlock the tree
these trees will be there to augment your main pre choices and include seconday SP / att / skillboosts

    example:
caster = SP enhancements (the ones you pick in your main pre will lock out/ not stack with these, so picking air savant will lock out air as a choice here, but you will be able to increase fire for instance as a secondary)
melee = att bonus, maybe some generic boosts ( att / dmg / haste / prr / defence )
specialist = skills, ranged bonuses saves boosts

I very much agree that we need class trees in the new enhancement system.

It's probably too late in the dev cycle to propose this, but what I would prefer to see is each class has a single tree: the central "trunk" contains the generic class abilities (i.e., stat bonuses, action boosts, Spellpower, etc.); while the left & right "branches" correspond to the PrEs. So pallies & ftrs get DPS and tanking / survivability branches; rgrs gets archery & melee branches; clerics & FvS get offensive & defensive / healing magic branches; etc. Pts spent would be cumulative across the entire tree, but there would still be chained pre-reqs; so e.g. you couldn't spend a ton of pts on Stalwart Defender then grab the Kensei capstone without investing in its path.

Similar thing for the races: e.g., elves get melee / ranged enhs on one branch, wiz enhs on the other; halflings get melee / Assassin enhs on one branch, maybe divine magic enhs on the other (to go w/Healing DM, perhaps). Humans & HEs get to select any two racial branches they want, but have to pay a bit more to access them.

While we're at it, I'd standardize AP costs across the board: static bonuses are 1 AP ea.; % bonuses and new abilities are 2 APs to unlock, 1 AP to upgrade (possibly with diminishing returns); PrE "branches" cost 4 APs to unlock, but you get all the first-tier core abilities with those APs.

Nice idea. Too bad we didn't get a true alpha to be able to tweak things.
