    Default Negative Energy divine caster?

    Is a divine caster focused on negative energy worthwhile?

    I looted one of these a little while ago and figured it would at least be very thematic to use:

    What divine spells are classified as negative energy? Harm definitely. What about Implosion or Destruction?

    Wait for the enhancement pass and try the Divine Disciple tree. Sadly negative energy spells are not very good.

    Questions to you:
    1. Are you going to be spec'd for negative energy spells? i.e. heal skills or spell craft skills, items that improve those skills, decent INT (for Spell Craft) or great WIS (for Heal skill) - I am talking after the enhancement pass here.
    2. Why not TR into a Palemaster? The +1 DC in Conjuration from Cleric Past Life is pretty nice.


    To answer your questions:
    1. Yes, Harm and Destruction are negative energy spells. So is Slay Living, Inflict Critical Wounds, Inflict Light, Moderate, Serious at lower levels.
    2. Implosion is not a negative energy spell. It is an evocation spell like blade barrier that deals untyped damage if the target(s) saved.

    Or to be succinct, no. No it's not worthwhile. Many good ways to play a divine, but none that I am aware of or can think up that rely on negative energy damage (most of your good neg energy spells are insta-kill, damage only on save).
