Hello Aaron and welcome to the family!
This tribute you speak of has me and those I adventure with VERY excited. So many possibilities so I cannot wait to hear more on this as time goes by.
Thank you for your post and hope we all can hear more from you in the near future!
If you have the time, I do have a multi-part question for you;
Do you play DDO? If so, how much do you play each session and what Class?
I hope he brings mounted combat to DDO.
I want a chariot pulled by a team of halflings.
You have your orders ProducerRowan.
Make it so.
Magical Rings are well... magical. - Gandalf
Good luck to you and your team, you just might need it.
This is a game with quite the rabid fanbase and we love our D&D.
You're coming in at a time when the fanbase here is perceivably at an all time low as far as liking the direction of the game. There have been uncountable mistakes and oversights, poor communication, and what some people consider downright shoddy management/QA of this game as a whole.
Your very first mission should probably be to make sure that whatever version of the game that goes live is indeed the same version it is supposed to be. Releasing things that are constantly broke, don't match the release notes, or have reintroduced bugs that have been supposedly fixed a number of times has not instilled any sort of confidence in Turbine's management. The game has taken a significant downturn in quality since the release of MOTU, and continuing to build new things onto the old things that are still broken might not be the best course of action.
That being said, DDO is an amazing game and there's nothing else like it out there. I love it, have been a diehard fan of D&D since the very first edition box set came out, and I've been hooked on it ever since. I want to see this game flourish and I know with some tough choices at the management level and a bit of foresight it can reach some Glory Days that heretofore have been unrealized.
I implore you to measure twice, cut once. Think about the big picture first, luring in players and retaining them because the game is so incredibly awesome you can't help but enjoy playing it. NOT how to make a quick buck with the least effort, which is how the game has felt for some time now.
Best of luck to you, and welcome to the DDO team.
May the gods of whichever pantheon you favor be with you in your endeavors.

Like all the other I have a few questions :
1) Do you have the power to actually stop things to happen when the feedback is bad ?
2) Do you have the power to actually force changes to previewed things when the feedback is bad ?
3) Do you have the power to delay a module because it's too buggy in the preview ?
4) Do you intend to work with us ( the players ) to make the game better for all, or are you going to just throw things our way even if we don't want them ? ( typical example enhancement update )
5) Do you intend to drive the team to fix what is broken ? ( the list is very very long )
6) Do you intend to drive the team to finish what is unfinished ? ( the list is also long )
7) Did you smoke/drink/eat what the Kobold known as Major Malphunktion gave all the rest of the team so that they actually started to talk to us ?
Side note : For the Gnomes, use the Halflings, it's probably faster and they are more supple than Dwarves when it comes to being distorted.
On G-Land : Flavilandile, Blacklock, Yaelle, Millishande, Larilandile, Gildalinde, Tenalafel, and many other...
<-- Could use some love, so glad to hear you are a fan.
What this game needs, more than anything, is consistent communication about what's going on. Most of us are actually pretty forgiving and accepting of mistakes and even open to change, but not when it is accompanied by thundering silence or the occasional comment with no followup. This includes incomplete release notes that cover less than half the changes implemented! Just let us know what's going on.
Things seem to be getting better in that department, so holding out hope that we will hear from you and your teammates more often. Even if it's news we don't like, we want to hear it from you guys.
On a better note, I said I'd buy the expansion when the owlbears were fixed and I did indeed purchase four packs, upgrades and extra TP for the players in my house.
I absolutely love the new epic wildernesses and leveled from 20-22 over the weekend playing around in the King's Forest, Underdark and Gianthold. The random encounters in Gianthold were more fun than I expected, witty, tough but doable and just made me want to keep exploring.
Two more shared bank slots made my TR easier and I promptly purchased them. If there are more, I'll buy them too. Yay.
Storage is a huge quality-of-life issue, the biggest being the inability to sort the character bank, the TR bank, the green ingredient bags or the new augment bags. Character banks cannot be searched at all. Please make this a priority. The UI already exists to search the shared bank, bags and backpack and the backpack has an interface for sorting by item type. Expand this to the other storage spaces. Please, please consider letting us sort things by minimum level, letting us spend more time playing and less time searching for stuff.
Lots of other stuff too, there are lists and lists of things that need fixing, but if you have any influence on prioritizing things, please take a look at storage.
And don't stop giving us feedback! There are plenty of trolls and plenty of disillusioned posters ready to run things down, but a huge number of us just want to know what's going on, what's not WAI and where things are going.
Look forward to having you around.

In short, I'll work with the team to build the best game we can (based on the extensive history of DDO) while still adding things that are fresh and new. The game should keep its soul but not stagnate.
Take Epic TR as an example. Our goal is to build another system that people enjoy (like TR) but leverages all the types of advancement we have in the game (Epic Destinies). Your feedback has already changed the team's approach to this features, which is why we're evaluating multiple approaches to respect the investment you've already made and design a feature that is fun but doesn't feel punishing.
It could have been more elegant, but we'll make choices around the game as it is.
Good luck. You're gonna need it.
If players can deal with Half-Orcs being larger than WF, we can live with Gnomes being round bearded Halflings.
Besides, if an Iconic Hero such as Techsmith (Gnome Artificer) or Gnome Illusionist can be introduced into the game, that's your backdoor way of adding the last basic player class to the game while still making some money on it: Gnome becomes free but the Iconic Hero must be bought.

Hello and Welcome.
As a producer (who mirror's Fernando's producering) what level of interaction do you see having with the fans and crazies on these forums? The Fernando 4 post a year setup or closer to the MadFloyd (probably my favorite DDO producer) deep interaction with fans on the direction of the game on the big topics?
Also what are Fernando and Madfloyd doing these days? They didn't even say bye.
One thing I've wanted in DDO (if we can't have user created dungeons due to the engine/tool set complexity):
PVE Team vs Team Dungeons. 6v6 race to the dungeon's end. Along the way each side can see but not DIRECTLY interact with the other... but you can indirectly use levers/puzzles/cannons/cause traps/summons to delay the other team. Both sides get some reward but only the first place gets to fight the final boss.
I would take the 1st Edition limit on magic items and vow of poverty if you get us a real Holy Avenger.
In the meantime how about some boosts to the new Paladin enhancements? What is on Lama now is pretty underwhelming.
Conn Niall Paladin 20 TRx2
Cormac Mac Airt Ranger/Rogue 12/1
Connyl Niall Paladin 1 Connlyssa Paladin/Fighter 18/2
HI WELC..ahem :::looks over his shoulder for the banhammer...:::
Yes this producer guy "Aaron"(what kind of non de plume name is that?) and I (Major Malphunktion is a far more proper name) go back a few years. Personally I'm psyched to be working with him again.
Thank you and your team for the recent guild decay summer break.
Have you considered making this change permanent or reworking how decay works?
