Default why we have left ddo..

well.. me and my friends have left ddo(for now), and moving to gw2. and here is the reason why.
    1) Gold cosmetic armor for blade forge still missing.. we file a ticket three weeks ago.. so far nothing been fixed.
    2) owlbear still inferior to normal level 23 hireling..

p.s. if turbine couldn't even fix a cosmetic armor and a hireling.. i doubt the upcoming expansion will be any good.. good thing am the only one already purchase the expansion... we might return if next expansion and enhancement system been done right. but i promise this will be the last time i buy expansion from turbine. paying customer do not get what they purchase, and they basically sold me a useless hireling for 40 bulks..

Default What server were you on?

Maybe lag has been reduced on that server if you had a large group of friends.

I won't ask the most often asked question of players that are leaving. Someone else will.

Three people are not enough to reduce lag, but we can hope.

Neither will I ask, if he is leaving over some cosmetic junk and the expectation that somehow a hireling would be awesomesauce, he has got nothing I would want.

Yeah there are plenty of good reasons leave (and some excellent ones to stay), the two suggested by the OP would easily rank at the bottom for me. It is interesting how we are all unique.

    Seriously?

Those are pretty ridiculous reasons for leaving the game.

Yo stuff is ours now! mwahahah

Also a real quitter doesn't post. They call up support, say two words, and then move on to another game.

This is likely it - being plenty annoyed with the game to the point where something that's MINOR not being fixed was just enough, exactly as the expression says. >_>

You never know what little thing will be the last bit someone can take, especially when you're talking customer retention, so...it shouldn't be surprising that something like this caused someone to leave.

I do love that people make fun of the person and act happy every time someone posts that they're quitting...especially when you consider easily that for every one person that posts that they quit, ten or more just quietly stop playing. Believe it or not, even if you only solo and such, other people leaving does affect you - and you'll understand why the day the servers are shut down (though hopefully the game will improve vastly in the near future and the shut down date will be a good bit in the future).

Hi OP, was just browsing ddo and wanted to see what was happening with the game since i left and happened to have some interest in this thread.

I used to play DDO extensively for about 2 years, but its been 2 years since I last was really committed to this game. It is by far the best pve MMO on the market and it is the best online game that I have ever played - largely due to the close community that existed back when I played on khyber 2 years ago.

I hear you are going to try GW2, but I'd be surprise if you find that game as more 'fulfilling' then DDO. I am also currently playing GW2 on a casual basis, its a good game in its own right but at the same time its so much more shallow then what DDO has to offer. One thing it does have is a huge population and for me that really does count towards the fun I have in MMO's.

Anyway have fun experiencing the game world and other things GW2 has to offer, but at the moment there really is not an MMO that has really captivated me like DDO has (I have tried Neverwinter during beta phase but it really did not draw me in). Though I did quit DDO because I felt my time with the game was up and I had hit that feeling of 'running the wheel', I am hoping there will be a DDO 2 in the future - updated graphics, bigger world, more of the feats and character customization that is really unrivaled across the MMO genre.

Oh yeah, I came back to DDO very briefly and even bought the expansion when it came out about a year ago, but I think by the I have just moved on to far to ever go back. GL in your search for an MMO that is absorbing and interesting.

Try taking a break for a while before you quit for good.

I totally understand your issues with the Owlbear. I've spent a ton of money on DDO and the Owlbear expansion upgrade was the first time I felt like Turbine screwed me.

A cosmetic and a hireling? LOL!
    Not because of a companion?

My armor looks red. I'm leaving DDO now!

All hirelings are dumb and never worked as they should (healers don't stay in place when ordered, instead they look for traps and get as many agro as they can, they think it's a help for you).

People come and go in games all the time. We're not making fun of people for leaving. We're making fun of people who feel the need to post about it for the sake of attention. No one cares why this person left. No one cares why you play DDO less. It's how games work. We get it. If people want to leave, great, just get on with it already.

OP, everyone has a breaking point. I am sure the devs do not like to lose any players. Hopefully this will be a break and not a goodbye.

While I do understand that every player who leaves is less in the game, and less revenue and a slow lead to Turbine's eventually shutting down the servers, I do also get the other side of the replies. MMO's at their core are about being entertained. If the game is fun, people will play. If people are playing are having fun, they are probably a lot of fun to play with.

But someone who quits the game over a cosmetic and a hireling isn't enjoying the game very much in the first place and already has one foot out the door. And I also understand that is numerically impossible to make a game so great that everyone who plays it stays. Wow is the cup of tea of 10 million people, but I hate it. Nothing they could do could get me to stay and play that game. I think this is an issues that is the same. DDO is not the op's cuz of tea in the first place.
