For the bug in question, there's no pattern that's easily observable or recognizable that contributes to this bug occurring, that anyone has noticed to date. I'm sure there is some explanation, a flaw in the coding, that leads to this, but it's not something the players can debug on their own. It could be related to the characters in some way -- some feat/enhancement/item they have, some subtle action they have taken, some pixel they have stepped on, the angle their character is facing, what their graphics settings are, how much lag there currently is, etc. But there are too many possible factors to consider and nothing jumps out.
Yes this argument is a "problem", like you said. But it's not our problem. It's the devs' problem, because unfortunately the players won't be able to help them out much on this one. They have a general bug report and they are going to have to investigate futher on their own. That's the way it is sometimes. The devs have advantages of being able to look at the code, the ability to put in some tracing, analyze the program state using a debugger, etc. Hopefully they can figure it out.
Joined a few people who were doing the quest on epic elite tonight, still bugged!
That's all epic difficulties exhibiting the same error from my personnel experience.
Tolero made a post in another thread about they know there is a problem and it's with something being brought into the quest. I can only assume this to mean someone's item or buff, and that they hope to have it fixed with the expansion.
People here ARE trying to help you narrow this down, but your refusal to give any relevant information, beyond "It's Bugged, FIX IT!", is NOT going to help anyone get this fixed.
How many in your party?
Where are all party members, including hirelings/puts/summons, when you notice the electric field.
Is anyone/anything from your party up at the valve where the party must gather.
How close to Cretos can you get.
Since this happens to you all the time, you must write down everything that you are doing and where people are to have any chance to get it looked at. You are able to reproduce all the time, so the power to get this looked at is in your hands.
Be observant of what is going on and where everyone is. Take notes. Take /loc's. Put all the info you can into a bug report and add more to your report as you find more.
The problem is never how to get new, innovative thoughts into your mind, but how to get old ones out. Every mind is a building filled with archaic furniture. Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it.
just checked, still doesn't work.
i have never seen this issue you speak of so if you could actually give details of what is going on maybe people can replicate it or avoid it.
So, i figured out a way past this bug and have some insight on its specifics, posted it on another thread, hope it helps til they fix it, if ever.
In addition to the fact that the bug timer start when you first speak to dude prior to fight in 1st room, i suspect that this plagues builds with any type of aura mostly, tho i have bug on characters that have no aura i know of. I believe that the split second when an npc activates before they go into a script some builds can get agro, i specualte that he spawns at crateo a set time after you speak with him in 1st room, and if you somehow acquired agro when you first spoke to him then script will start as soon as he spawns at crateos even tho you arent actually there yet. This is purely specualation, but ive heard no other theory that rivals it logically.
