    Put DDO in a Pen-drive and open game from it, should fix.

    I've gotten used to it. I have a perma group that plays weekly at a specific time, as long as I don't reboot the PC I know I can "pre-login", crash and then when it comes time to play I'll be good to login properly. It's even helped me a few times as I've pre-logged in an hour before to get the crash out of the way and then found there's an update, downloaded and installed that and then at our fixed game time, been the only one with this login bug and yet beaten the rest of my party into game.

    Silver-linings aside, it's been going on way too long and is still bloody annoying!

    Something I am a little unsure of from the OP. What do you mean by a "Client Crash". It might be different from the "lost connection" issue people have been seeing since about U17.1.
    Hmmm... it just happened again. my Character appeared on the world with the red disconnected icon on the middle of the screen and then then the application closed down to the desktop and a message box popped up titled "Game Error" with the error "The connection to the server has been lost!"

    I would define a "crash to the desktop" (what I'm experiencing) where an application shuts down abruptly and the user is back at the desktop with complete control of the system but the application is closed down. In the instance of DDO, the launcher is on the task bar minimized but the actual game client is no longer running. A "system crash" would be where a system becomes unresponsive and you might be stuck on a black screen or a "stuck" image of the last thing you saw and no amount of <Ctrl><alt><del> will return you back to the desktop or Task Manager. This might require a reboot.

    The issue I'm experiencing logging in does not result in a system crash.

    At this point, since it is so intermittent and it only happens to some of us on some machines, perhaps we should share system specs and see if there is any consistencies. The system that this is happening to me is on a Windows XP Pro machine with Service Pack 3.

    Not intermittent for me, completely reproducible:

    I switched from xp 32 bit over to win 7 64 bit and haven't seen this since. I did have it every single day on the 32 bit OS though.

    Trust me, you really do not want to see what you typed. ;p

    As to thread: No OP, you are not the only one, and for us (my household) personally it has only been happening since last Friday 6/21/2013 in the last 4+ years of playing.

    I for one am personally finished even trying to log in until AT LEAST a comment is made by a Turbine COMMUNITY SPECIALIST.

Reinstalling may be worth it, but I think 18.2 brought new bugs with it, since now both our clients can randomly stop responding (no broken connection symbol, just no response from server on one or both characters) as well as initial log-in not working. The initial login bug seems machine related (the above new bug isn't) - one has an ATI card (crash on login one).

    You know what, now that I actually read the thread, and I see your post........ lately, I have noticed on several occasions I will be doing a quest (mind you, I am constantly hitting "X" during any and all quests for a multitude of reasons) But to carry on now........ I have noticed there are times I am in the middle of a quest and i will catch my chatbox scrolling, oddly scrolling, and I am doing nothing but running, and when I have looked at the oddness of my chatbox scrolling when I have trade/general turned off while in instance..... But it seems to me I noticed a few times how, and this is the near exact phrase that goes through my little mind when i notice it, but I think "thanks for the update" every time.

    And I am seriously 5 maybe 10 minutes past what I was notified of in my chatbox. (If it helps you devs, yes, I have definitley changed the size/position of my chat box(es)<>(since I run 3)

    if you getting dc after first looooong loading for first time try to enter to the game, there is already working workaround that will speedup loading up to few seconds. Search forum for post from me and use ddopreload as keyword.

    I am writing on mobile phone i dont know whether this link will work: https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...ght=ddopreload

    DDOpreload isnt helping me.
    I practically stopped play ddo because of this, used to play 5+ hours per day, now max 1h if I feel like wasting 20 min on logging in.

    Get the same as well but not every time and only on our laptops. From another computer while grouped with the account trying to log in there's a "connected" then a "disconnected" message while the logging in account finally loads to a "lost connection" message.

    To OP;

    No you're not! I'm having the same issue and since I suck at computer, I can't help it. It's not a huuuuuge problem, just really, really annoying.

    Angry Depressed

    I used to play DDO without login or crashing problems.
    But since a couple of weeks (did not pinpoint it but I think it maybe with the shadowfell update), I've started to experience major problems such as;

    Every time I have to login twice. I pass character selection but when my toon comes up the world is frozen with a red star with no connection. Then I close the game with Alt+F4, restart the game and the world loads up without problem.

    But this is not all or the worst of it.
    Worst part is that the game crashes time to time. Nothing helps and I have to make a hard reset and then guess what? I have to relogin twice again!

    The hard crash mostly happens during quests and i am not able complete several raids and quests within the last 2-3 weeks as i am kicked out or the quest already ended while i restart & login twice.
    The other day it crashed twice during a shroud raid which means I had to hard reset my computer 2 times and had to login 4 times in total just to see that everybody had already completed and left the quest.

    I am using 32 bit XP, my graphics drivers are up-to-date and I did not have any of these problems before.

    The only thing I dare to do is wilderness (it even crashes sometimes there too) these days and sometimes try my chance with a quest time to time. I think I am able to play/complete 2-3 quests per week in average.

    I am frustrated and resenting all the money I have recently invested in many adventure packs.

    Please forgive my long post but I am REALLY depressed about it.

    I hope someone has a solution for these issues.
