This is just a teensy little rant from player # 1,323,213 - and an interesting observation added.
My eyes are glazing over at all this discussion about ED's TR's etc. I can understand repeating the same content a couple of times with new builds for variety but in general, I have no interest in TRing, and I really don't want to repeat grinding ED's over and over again. One good ED per character and perhaps a couple of twists.
In addition to the hugely long discussions that I can't possibly follow, the complexities that leave me in the dust assiromg me my little voice means nothing in the crowd, the repeated problems with the web site/forum stalling for minutes at a time when I even try to read or respond, the whole thing has overwhelmed me and gotten out of hand.
I'd like new content, a minimum of having to repeat old content, and some other way of attaining multiple life difficulty besides just costing more and more of the "hard enough for most of us" precious XP.
I'd do something about the XP penalty too, and find some substitute for the Bravery Bonus/Tr Exp requirements which amount to nothing more than an "arms race for the grind" so that people who have the optimal builds, most time and most patience for repitition are rewarded.
I'd like new content and other features. I don't want to have to go to another game just to get content.
EDIT: OH AND BTW, am I the only one that noticed reading between the lines that the entire discussion of Epic TR and ED's seemed to be predicated not on what would be ideal design, but on the fact that someone probably expressed technical limitations, and they are doing their best to craft a design around those supposed limitations?
IF that's true, and I have no idea whatsoever if it is, its a critical mistake and the technical limitations need to be rethought. While I understand the urge to function that way for many reasons, in a company as large as Turbine backed by WB, it could be a critical mistake in the basic design of the game. Don't end up trying your best to patch and band-aid design around technical limitations unless you are Ab-so-lute-ly-sure those are hard and fast limitations. I have found that anything can be done if you throw money and time at it, and in my mind, Epic Tr'ing and EDs are too important to just patch together trying to work around technical limitations.
