God, I was so happy when they started to add checksums to catch your typos lol

It was a great way to learn coding though. Look over the Basic or Assembler or whatever you had just typed in, and start tweaking things to make it your own and help you understand the neat things you could do.

1200 baud - Wow, you were high tech!

My first modem was an acoustic coupler 300 baud modem that I build in a showbox (yes, literally a shoebox to hold the coupler and circuit board. )

I remember when they first started selling 300/1200 baud modems, I couldn't believe how fast they were!
Heck yes! That's how I learned to code BASIC! Peeks & Pokes start typing!!

... W for Work groups only went to 3.11 as I recall.

But I remember launching that, then quitting back to DOS was the only way I could fix the sound drivers so 7th Guest would play without crackling issues. Something about the WoW drivers fixing the sound card settings or some such. Figured that one out by accident.

Oh, so you wanna get REAL?

With all this stuff I drank back in the day, I'm kinda surprised this guy never showed up at one of our tabletop sessions...

My bad for leaving the NT off
    It went to
    Windows NT 3.1 / Windows NT 3.5 / Windows NT 3.51
I was using it when Win 95 came out.
Loved the Packard Bell's memmaker command.
Had to read the entire advanced win95 book to figure how to rework virtual memory to get Master of Orion to work, well that and ICQ.
Thanks to GOG it now runs on Win7 using DOS Box.
Thanks to Boolean algebra.Teachers hated me.
Then in Dec of 96 a car crash changed my life 34 day coma and an IQ loss of 70 points, still in the 130's just not the same.
