Game difficulty balance issues is not referring to a game to easy or too hard, those are just that, easy or hard games. A difficulty balance is when you (example) buy an adventure pack with 5 quests of same level:

    Quest 1 level 16: easy
    Quest 2 level 16: easy
Quest 3 level 16: objectively impossible for non ubertwinked TRed toons
    Quest 4 level 16: easy
    Quest 5 level 16: easy

This is an issue of difficulty balance.

Edit: i'm curious to know if NWO has gamepad support if anyone knows...

There is a huge balance issue between quests and high level dungeons.

It's a completely different approach than DDO. Quests are all easy by design and scaled for solo difficulty even when not soloing. High level dungeons are immensely more difficult with high failure rates. I wouldn't say they are impossible to complete. They have much higher failure rates compared to EE quests or high level raids in DDO. I don't know if that is by design, flawed design or they are still trying to figure it out. It's just like DDO I am sure, once you learn the right positioning and tricks it gets easier. I haven't learned those yet, but I also haven't made it a priority.

So far for me it's been very easy, I have a character at level 8 or 9 which is a 2HF Dwarf. Had to use a few healing pots here and there but have not died once yet. Yes I know it's still very early days in the game only being level 8 and all that but I just expected something more from the game. I find the lack of customization extremely boring and find that it lacks depth for me but you can't please everybody!

I think the bot probably had more fun than I did too. When I first heard about it, I was excited to try a new D&D world based MMO, and a world I liked better than Eberron. I have NEVER been a fan of Eberron, but DDO is a lot of fun. Then I started reading about what they were doing with NWO, and got a little worried, but I still tried it with my husband.

I say this in all honestly, I have never before been bored by a game in under 10 minutes in my life before. The previous "I hate this game, it's awful, don't wanna play' record was around five hours of fighting with Civ3 looking for the fun factor civ2 had. I played for another hour and a half with the husband because he needed to explore grouping for his write up on it, and hoped maybe it was just the worlds worst starter area, but it didn't get better. It got duller. And heaven help the speed players grouped up with slow ones, as it does that Baldur's Gate "you must gather your party before venturing forth" thing at quest entrances.

    It's pretty easy.

Then you hit tier 2 epic dungeons with endless trash mob spawns and it turns into a massive PITA unless you have a very specific party setup.

"Look at all dem dead Swaw'gins, so easy!"
I gave it a fair shake.

I honestly did, but gave up at L35.

Don't get me wrong there are things I did like about it.

The Daily events/bonuses was very nicely done.

It's totally true, I have a reliable source. You better reroll now.

Default Solo/2 Man Point of view

From level's 1-9 it's Korthos easy. Between level's 10-40 it's ridiculously easy. As in- "Crud, I leveled again?"
In the 40's (solo-wise) I started noticing some difficulty. Now granted I did it on a Rogue (now level 54) as in DDO- Wizards are ridiculously OP- so I can see a Control Wiz saying it's ALL easy.

I did make a new Cleric to play with my wife and kid (Wiz & Rogue) Once he hit 10- I've leveled him to 15 purely by crafting and the daily praying mechanism (sorta like daily dice) in a matter of (game) hours.
My wife & kid rarely log in though as they abhor the automatic mouse-look "feature".

It IS pretty easy overall, but the Foundry's where it's at. Today I'm going to run Delera's Tomb in NWO....for free.

I took a glance at NWO and gave up. Didn't like the fact that as a caster I was locked into place while trying to spam spells.

For the person who asked if you can use a controller while playing, yes but you have to install 3-party software to use it, which I thought was lame.

Yes, because knocking MOBs off of bridges is so hard! In all fairness, the first update for Neverwinter has been said to contain the first content that is actually intended to be 'difficult endgame material'. But until we see that, the game is just ridiculously simple and easy.

    Default That Video

That Video is like 15 levels over that area.
That is about the same as making the Heroic Start and running Korthos.
Which I did for my pack space, took less than 30 min for that and water works.
It gets much harder and depends on the class and area.
    I am playing Neverwinter have a lvl 44, 35, 30, 28, and 30.
    One of each class.
Take the Cloak Tower dungeon there. My Guardian fighter and Cleric were both able to run it at level just with the companion.
My rogue, control wizard and to be like 2 levels higher.
My great weapon fighter had to be 10 levels higher.
Some of the dungeons are real hard and great others not so.
My Smigit Guardian Fighter there at level 44 has not touched but about 1/2 of the content.
One I really like there is the Clockwork dungeon.
DDO is still much better than NWO.
Yet at times NWO seems more like D&D and at times DDO seems more like it.
So it is a hit and miss.
For those that only run a character to the single digits levels they have not done enough to judge.
That is like doing Korthos and the Harbor and saying that is all DDO has to offer.
Not all who wander are lost. I am not lost, I am just exploring.

I guess that LVL on NWO is equal to Rank in DDO. So LVL10 in NWO should be LVL3 in DDO

Running Korthos first time ever was fun and a bit challenging for newbie, running first 10LVLs of NWO is very boring and very easy

Lol. Cuz yeah...they can do anything they want...and what do they do? Plaigerize another game. Lovely creativity there!
