I have contacted a number of people in game who I have run with and are in small guilds, and have had an overwhelming response in regards to starting a new small guild channel. Small being a relative term, i.e. active players.
The idea is not to replace pugs, but simply have something which works alongside pugs. Both as a place for filling for raids, parties for leveling, training, conversation, buffs, etc. We all now that filling 100% from a pug can be hit or miss on the group, and this provides the opportunity to have at least a few solid players to start the raid. The idea is also not to be exclusive to "elite" players, as there are plenty of channels for that. But to provide in the era of massive sized guilds a political free place for people who don't raid everyday to feel comfortable asking questions about and learning about raids/quests.
Currently, I have 8 guilds who range in size from 1-17 active players in the guild who are interested. I'd like to get 12-15 guilds involved before fully launching. I know a few of the people have mentioned other guilds that would be interested.
Please either respond in thread, pm in forums, or in game, if you have any interest in joining something like this.
(I know there have been a few attempts at this, and if there is a successful one out there I am unaware of please let me know!) I am reaching out to the community here to get a better gauge on interest with the intention of this being successful.
edit: This is not necessarily limited to small guilds...but individuals as well.
