It looks really solid. Improved critical(ranged) you could swap for weapon focus(slashing) or get whirlwind attack by also taking out the khopesh proficiency (scimitars & longswords still good weapons). Been asking around and nobody seems to know if offhand attacks proc on whirlwind attack, if they do that would probably swing it for me.

At least, unless you need improved critical(ranged) for an epic feat there really isn't much difference between (20)x3 and (19/20)x3 and you might get more value out of another feat instead. Good build though :P

The reason why most people will not know the answer to that question is that Whirlwind attack with weapons (not unarmed--unarmed appears unaffected) is still bugged/featured to severely drop DPS due to its laggy+lengthy animation.

Compare to Cleave/Great Cleave before those were changed to have shorter animations, though their animation (along with Momentum Swing, Lay Waste, Trip, and Sunder) still have animations that are long enough to make a noticeable DPS decrease during Haste Boost. Conversely, during Damage Boost the Cleave effects generally will cause enough DPS to overcome the loss of extra swings that could've been made/initiated during their animation.

For now, most of the people that will bother to fit in Whirlwind attack are flavor unarmed builds or Tempests that also like the flavor and don't mind using a feat on something that's not min-maxed for DPS.

Thanks for answering. What a shame, it looks like I will have to delete my character since I was building him for whirlwind attack. In truth I was dying heavily without evasion anyway so it's probably for the best.

Quite disappointed to learn it is still bugged. I'm finding bug reports listed in the wiki helpfiles all over the place and have no idea what is WAI or not. Given the feat prerequisites I would have expected them to have fixed it by now, for instance they could take frames out of the animation to try speed it up if they cannot afford money to code a new animation file.

Anyway thanks again for pointing it out, it's saved me a bad experience.

I am about to TR into this build. It should be versatile and survivable without stretching itself too thin.

It will wont fully come together until about level 18 though :/

For new players it uses all FTP classes/race. There are no min stat requirements either so it is very doable on a first life toon.

I chose IC: Ranged for use with bows that have expanded crit ranges

I knew whirlwind was bugged and I have a bunch of khopeshes save up... But going scimmies or heavy picks and dropping khopesh feat leaves you a feat to play with.

I think it will be fun all the same and once you get to that sweet spot with your saves and minimum level requirements for gear it's going to be a blast.
