I recently hit level 20 on Praetoreus in his paladin life, DoS build. He has four cleric past lives (one of which was LR'd for a monk past life) and one fighter past life. I'm sure it made a significant impact that he has good gear; heavy armor, shields, dwarven waraxes, greataxes, etc... The three cleric past lives also made his turns much more effective than I thought they'd be.
This life was a breeze! The massive amount of hit points and self-healing (with 0 points in UMD) was terrific, along with the very good DPS. I have seen a lot of posts on the forums that complain about lousy DPS for a paladin, but I have not found that to be true. The solo-ability this life was very close to, if not equal to, the solo-ability of his cleric lives.
His ability to self-heal, while at the same time not being screamed at by party members to heal them (as often happens during his cleric lives), might have made this life even more fun than his cleric lives, though I really enjoy playing as a cleric.
Just my two cents on the matter...
