    Default Question for Cordovan:

    Regarding forum reputation.

Even though you have turned all reputation power to neutral, can you as a moderator still see whether it is positive or negative reputation, and take action accordingly?

I ask simply because I am curious. I hope this to be the case, as I really really like it the way it is now.

What action would he take? If I get up on a soap box and then rant silently to myself so that no one can hear me, does it matter even a little bit what I'm saying?

The exact same action they had always taken when a person was neg repped into moderated status.

I'm fairly certain that divesting theme selves of forum responsibility was part of the motivation for new forum policy. While they've always been a clear background presence (post an exploit/harras somebody & they're right there!) they seem to prefer lurking in the shadows over taking an active roll.

Your request seems to fall under the category of "being engaged with the player population" which has been an observably low priority. Always hoping they'll come along and prove that wrong.... (crickets chirping)... /sigh
Now excuse me while I wander off to arm myself with Grilled Cheese Sandwiches and hunker down behind my Armored Beer Refrigerator, while I have the UFO's take control of the Congresional Wives with the help of the International Cocaine Smugglers and the Evil Geniuses for a Better Tomorrow - btw, do you have change for 10 million population?

Still hoping that as Cordo refreshes the New Posts page he might grace us with an answer. Not sure what trade secrets there are to be kept hidden on the subject. :[

Why ask here? Why not send him a PM?

    Default Why?

Exactly what difference does it make either way? Either way, the question and the response are the same, the only difference is the delivery.

So why send a PM? The simple answer is because there is no need to. I am not talking about an exploit here, there is no need for a PM.

Let me ask you this now: What makes you think he would respond to a PM any more than responding to a question on the open forums.

After all, this is his job isn't it? COMMUNITY specialist, not Private specialist.

I was not personally the one who made the adjustments, but the way it works is that since there is no reputation given, either positive or negative, everything is marked as neutral. My advice is to ignore the reputation system for now. At some point we'll adjust it again and let folks know.

I very much thank you for the response Cordovan, but it didn't actually answer the question but I will take what I can get. Thank you for the response!

Edit: Upon re-reading, it did answer the question "all reputation is marked as neutral".

That was an answer, sorry, still working on this first pot of coffee!
