I absolutly love the Shinigami Eyes that let you see monster's health. While i'v only unlocked it for human so far it's really motivated me to get certin packs and catch' em all.
(Yes, I am coining the phrase Shinigami eyes. )
Like everyone else so far, it seems, I like the MM...I think its a fun way to add a new dimension to existing content, not just churn out another layer of quests and raise the level cap by 3.
That being said, ultimately you're just paying for the ability to see HP, thats all you really get out of it long-term. The XP is negligible, and everything else is cosmetic or one-time consumables. Especially since they went from TP to AS as major rewards.
I always thought each MM should, really, give you slightly more TP for totally completing it than it costs to purchase. Or at least break even, so you can buy it during Discount Days and come out ahead It'd be a loss leader...you give the MM away, essentially, but people will spend more TP chasing the MM objectives...or at least will have less TP in their savings, and will have to pay for TP if another good sale comes along...
Or even better, have some of the character-based milestones reward TP, so (much like 100 favor milestones), you could earn them over every time you TR or roll up an alt. I'd definitely buy some MMs if it kicked me back 15 TP every now and then...
But in the current incarnation, I'm not interested, unfortunately, in paying 500 TP or whatever just for a grip of Astral Shards and the ability to see Minotaur HP...

I want DDO to be a better game. Those are my personal suggestions on: Ammunition, Archmage, Combat Stances, Deities, Dispel Magic, Epic Destiny Map, Fast Healing, Favor, Favored Enemy, Half-elf Enhancements, Monk Kensai, Monk Stances, Past Life, Potency, Potions, Ranger Spells, Summons, Tiered Loot.
For me, it is much, much more then any reward. When I used to play PnP way back in the day, I always enjoyed reading the MM entries on some new monster I have encountered for the first time. Gave more flavor and depth to the game as a whole.
With our MM, those entries/stats are filled in a bit at a time the more we encounter them and again, it gives me more flavor and depth to the game. I love that and hope they do more for that fact alone.
One change or something I wish they could have done different is take the Named monsters out of the MM and make a Fiend Folio and placed the named MOBs there.
I have found it enjoyable doing the "pokemon" thing and finding all the names/types for my account deeds.
I am really disappointed though, in that some of them can't be completed for names/types because plain and simple there are not enough of that type even ingame yet, I think there were only 5 monster types maybe that couldn't be completely finished for account deeds.
Though there are alot of "bugged" named stuff that doesn't show on the list after being killed, hopefully they will get those fixed. I reported all the ones I found not counting, but it will take years to get them to work properly I'm sure.
I'll go through my list, but yeah bugbears couldnt without 3 I think from CC, mephits was 4 short, elf and halfling were short also. I know some elves/halflings were not being counted but even with them, I'm pretty positive without being logged in those were the ones still not completable. Well, atleast for me, I do keep a list where I killed things to, and wiki was help also.
Bugbears needs Crystal Cove to be completed since Crooktooth only gives the Fiendish Lion kill. If Crooktooth gave both racial kills, then Crystal Cove would be like the Skeletons in Mabar, just icing on top.
Elves and Halflings don't have enough unique mobs to make the Hunter achievable.
It looks like Mephits are also unachievable even if all Mephit types worked properly.
I seem to be missing 10 Zombies and 20 WF. I haven't heard others really complain about those missing, so I don't know if it's just me or not.
I think Gargoyles are only achievable if you include Mabar's Night Gargoyles.
As for the last book, I'm not sure if all the entries are achievable. Fire Elementals, like most Elemental entries, are bugged category, although it appears Earth is fixed now. Dwarf might be like the Elves and Halflings, where the Hunter number can not be achieved yet, but I haven't really farmed for dwarves either. I think, but can't verify, that all the others in the last MM are achievable.
