    Default HOW-TO: Reduce the Cluster-**** that is the new forums (and other websites)

    Step 1: If you haven't already, install Firefox, Chrome, or Opera.

    Step 2: Install Adblock Plus

    Step 3: Install Adblock Plus Element Hider

    Step 4: Open the Adblock Element Hider

    Step 5: Shoot to kill

    Filters are:
    Disable signatures (no, I don't want to see them again and again):
    ddo.com##.signature.restore

    Disable avatars (nah):
    https://www.ddo.com/forums/images/avatars/*

    Reputation (even more useless a system than before):
    https://www.ddo.com/forums/images/reputation/*

    That massive footer (it really is massive):
    ddo.com##.footer-wrap

    The less massive header and DDO logo (it really is sort of large):
    ddo.com##.header-wrap

    Posting privileges box:
    ddo.com##.options_block_container

    The RSS icon:
    https://www.ddo.com/forums/images/misc/rss_40b.png

    Background image (SPIDERS. SPIDEERRRS):
    https://www.ddo.com/sites/all/themes...s/articles.jpg

    Anonymizer (makes posts relatively anonymous. Still possible to find names by quoting or disabling adblock):
    ddo.com##.userinfo
    ddo.com##.label
    ddo.com##.threadlastpost.td
    ddo.com##.bbcode_postedby

    Smilies (screw smilies):
    https://www.ddo.com/forums/images/smilies/*

    Report and +rep buttons (you can disable adblock quickly if you want to report someone):
    ddo.com##.postlinking

    Subject field (damn that text is large):
    ddo.com##.title.icon

    There are a lot more things you can block, but I won't list them. Just figure it out. You can also block things on other websites: ABP Element Hider is a really useful tool.

    NOTE: Since a lot of these filters are wild-cards, they can block things that you didn't intend to block. If that happens, just edit or delete the filter.

    The signatures, you can just go to settings to turn them off. No point in doing all that just to turn off signatures. The rest is fine, though I don't see much 'clutter'. It's pretty simple to me. I of course, always have adblock though. ;P

    THANK YOU!

    The margins are still all muddled up - but at least I don't have to look at that MotU diaper-lining anymore.

    Don't use them? Seems..... Um rather cumbersome to me.... This new forums/website format.... Who thought THIS was a good idea.... LOL I would hate to see how their kitchen cupboards are organized... The food would be under the sink, and the cleanign products would be front and center in the pantry cupboard...

    By the way, you can right-click on an image and there's an option to block it in the context menu; no need to use Element Hider.

    Alternatively, There's Stylebot from the Chrome WebStore. With it you can do things like the following:
    • Expand the content column
    • Darken the background to give a little more contrast
    • Prevent the overuse of GoudyTrajan, the annoying SmallCaps font used all over the place.

    this was done with just the CSS:
    Code:
    div.above_body {
        width: 95%;
    }

    div.below_body {
        width: 95%;
    }

    h3.threadtitle,h3.searchtitle a.title {
        font-family: 'Arial' ;
    }

    div.postrow h2.title {
        font-family: 'Arial' ;
    }

    h1 span.threadtitle {
        font-family: 'Arial' ;
    }

    div.body_wrapper {
        width: 95%;
        background-color: #111;
    }
