Default Best off hand item when using a returning weapon?

What off hand items add anything to your throwing weapon?

    Default Sneak attack or shield

Some think that sneak attack from off hand will still work on the thrown weapon, others think that having better ac is good and use a shield.

If you are an artificer, I would suggest a runearm.

Seeker and Backstabbing works with any weapon.

    So does doublestrike I think.

I am kinda thinking a runearm may be the best though. (haven't tried with throwing wep, but it should work.)

Runearm would uncenter a monk though, so not compatible with a 10K stars build.

doublestrike works only on melee mainhand.

Greater sunburst item will work great.

I craft a Seeker +8 Shield of Ranged Alacrity. In addition to the extra damage on crits and extra attack speed (that doesn't stack with haste, unfortunately), equipping a shield gives you a +4% doublestrike bonus to your main hand weapon.

ETA: Tested this and found I was incorrect. Doublestrike bonus from shield does not apply to thrown weapons.

awesome idea. I have only just started crafting though and doubt my skills are anywhere near this level. I will keep it in mind for the future though

Any loot gen seeker shield will also work well.

I always thought that the shield bonus for doublestrike applied to thrown weapons as well as melee, but after seeing Vellrad's comment thought I'd test it. Turns out I was wrong.

The bonus to doublestrike from using a shield does NOT apply to a thrown weapon. I confirmed this in testing today.

Sorry for the misinformation. I still think a seeker shield is going to be the best off-hand when throwing; just not as good as I originally thought.
