So, I just hit level 19 so 20 is right around the corner. My FvS is my only toon past level 6, but I have not been very impressed. Of course that could be my fault overall (poor gear, inexperienced, mostly solo, still trying to understand which spells overlap and/or don’t). I’ve been S&B for 4 levels now and I know that is just not going to do it for me. I am focusing more on spells when needed, and slicing as much as I can in order to reserve some SP. I’ve spend some real $ on him (bags, storage, +4 tomes, Greater Tome of Learning). I should also state that I am a half-elf w/Paladin Dilettante feat.
One thing that got me a bit discouraged is seeing a sorcerer just zap things dead so quickly when I teamed up. I understand there are differences, but it was amazingly different. I don’t even come close! Is it just my gear or is there just that much of a difference?
Now that I’m about to hit 20 I have some decisions to make.
I really like the concept of melee FvS, and I would like to see what changes are made with the pending enhancements. I just can’t seem to go Warforged, for a better 2-handed options, but I just might have to think about it.
I’m thinking about transitioning my current FvS into FvS 17, Monk 2, fgt 1 w/Paladin Dilettante and waiting to see if the enhancements changes comes sooner’ish.
I might TR into a half-orc FvS 17, Monk 2, fgt 1 and see if that makes a bigger difference for me.
I’m also thinking of going monk or paladin as well. I’m not much into min/max, but I do want to be viable.
I do think it’s wise for me to stay around for a bit in order to unlock a few things, such as Arti. Overall I like the concept of FvS, more melee style, but what am I missing.
Maybe I should farm for gear?
Ok, I know I said a lot without saying anything. Maybe someone can pick apart my rambling and give some advice?
Enjoy and thanks!
