    Default moguecher

    I've recently leveld my first monk to 20 and have a had a great time running him. I felt that he was very weak with ranged combat: In fact, I would usually run and jump to the mob and melee them. That's too bad since ranged combat is exactly what you need sometimes. I really enjoyed the extraordinary movement sped while sneaking and thought it would be great if he had rogue skills.

    So, for my very first TR, I've created this, my very first multi-class build. Please look it over and let me know if you see somewhere it could be improved or if there is a glaring error I overlooked. Thanks.

    The 13/6/1 split is pretty much what my main is. If myDDO is working you can look up Cujo on Thelanis. As and fyi, I have two past live rogue but it wouldn't really matter which you had as long as you were at least a third lifer. Trust me you'll want those extra build points since you really don't have a stat you'll want to dump entirely.

    The build is very fun to play with a very high survivability with the only down side, imho, is that you really need to focus on all your stats and abilities. As such, the character gets spread pretty thin. High end gear and tomes are mandatory if you want to do it all. It can be tough at times especially on your way to cap but once there and with the proper gear you can do quite well. Just understand you will be slightly behind the 13/6/2 Fighter/Pali in dps but you can more than make up for it with the higher UMD and rogue skills.

    IMO INT is too high and WIS too low. You can safely drop INT to 12 and use the extra points to raise WIS to 16 and DEX to 15.

    The only things INT is giving you are skill points, Search and Disable Device. With tomes, enhancement bonuses, insight bonuses and exceptional bonuses for INT and level appropriate search and disable gear you should be able to handle those tasks without issues.

    WIS is the critical stat for stunning fist and touch of death -- as well as zen archery. DEX and WIS work together for AC -- which, when combined with dodge, ghostly, etc. will be enough to protect you even at epic levels.

    Not sure why you have power attack, cleave, great cleave. My assumption is that you want to qualify for overwhelming critical. However, improved martial arts and vorpal strike are better epic feats for a monk with high WIS. You use 3 feats that you are not going to use very often in order to get 1 feat that is situational at best.

    IMO that is not the best choice. Improved sunder is another choice I don't agree with.

    This brings me to the Tempest I PrE choice. Better is using the elf/half-elf racial PrE to take Arcane Archer. Adjust enhancements to allow you to pick up the AA selections. Of course, this requires you to choose half-elf as your racial choice which, IMO, is always better than choosing human.

    Concept wise it has little against it as it mirrors several build ideas that others have presented. But, execution wise it has, IMO, a lot of unnecessary limitations.

    I presently playing this build and can say that it is very good. Mine is a half-elf with cleric dillienta for easy button and just one ranger past life(was exploiter first life). As much as I live the ability to be able to do traps my static group I play this toon with usually doesn't need a trapper anymore. So I have given serious thought to the Sithal burst build. I would say give that a look see. Rogue for low lvls, up to giant hold or so was great, know that I'm at a higher lvl I think it would work better for me to switch rogue lvl for fighter and keep cleric dilenta.

    I and just a look at what can be achieved. I have ten k stars andant shot so I archer alot but this last weekend in tor I was hitting with bow anywere from 75-267 base damage per arrow. I don't even have the best of gear. And I easily tanked black dragon on hard melee style. Nothing to right home about melee yet as I don't have best gear but I attack extremely fast and think the high crit of that day was a 132 with one hit base damage.

    The only thing monk 13 gets you is Diamond Soul; but since it's tied to your monk lvl, your SR is capped at 23. That's not enough to be useful in epics, so I would do monk 12 / rog 2; at least that gets you Wand & Scroll Mastery I and some extra skill pts.

    Also, I don't see why you made a human Tempest monkcher. The big appeal of monkchers is combining AA (Slaying Arrows) w/10K Stars so you have higher sustained ranged DPS than an AA w/out 10K Stars.

    The build lacks two things that I'd like to have in it -- IC: Ranged and IPS. I would just comment that this is why people commonly take more ranger levels or instead splash fighter rather than rogue. My assumption based on your original post is that you see yourself as more of a melee character who happens to have pretty good ranged capability instead of the other way around.

    I assume that you will then use your epic feats for Improved Martial Arts and Vorpal Strike to compliment your melee.

    Tomes show used earlier than the normal minimum level on the assumption that they are auto applied and affect stats for TRs on levels 3, 7 and 11 including skill points and qualifying feats.
