Monks tend to get hit very infrequently, and can build appropriately so that when they do get hit it's reduced by quite a bit.
25% incorp from ninja spy.
20% from smoke 2 or blurry -- 50% from displace from smoke 2 clickie
dodge upwards of 15+%
This all means enemies aren't hitting you frequently, and with mountain stance you're actually reducing the physical damage by a large margin. Elemental damage is reduced by base 30, 8 from monkey, all of your saves, and iirc it's 12 per element from grandmaster of flowers(?). Meaning you're more resilient to elemental damage than most classes.
I made a conc-op goggles on my monk, I regret it since the change to displacement(it used to be castable on allies). Now I think the only way to go is smoke 2, which covers 1 of your displacement clickies(I'd carry 2-3 personally) and your 20% blur(at 11, iirc only ring of shadows has it?)
