Default Stunning Beauty (2M-18D) - "Arcane" Evoker w/ Nasty Stunning Fist - Please Advise

This is a druid "arcane" evoker with a nasty stunning fist.

On my clonk and divine evoker monk/fvs, I love the effectiveness of stunning fist (as they are both wisdom based). However, on my pale master w/ monk splash I haven't found an effective equivalent, as even though he is strength based, stunning blow just doesn't proc as often, and it's also hard to get high stunning fist dc's.

I asked myself, how do I get an arcane evoker with stunning fist? The answer is druid.

The nice thing is druids are so flexible that--unlike other wisdom-based casters--they are not expected to be primary healers, and this build isn't really meant to be one, so on the enhancements I have elected to boost light/fire and cold/acid spell damage without putting much into healing boosts.

    ----------------------
    Stunning Beauty I
    ----------------------

This first version is focused on casting but with decent melee primarily in elemental form.

I was inspired by both my original Stunning Beauty build (now Stunning Beauty II) and CoasterHops's The Immolator (A.k.a. The Abomination) http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=411991. However, CoasterHop's build, which is intended to use primarily fire elemental form, takes Nature's Warrior II rather than Season's Herald II. Nature's Warrior II is quite weak for builds that do not use animal forms. It only gives 2d6 extra damage when the enemy is <50% health. The prerequisite enhancements for Nature's Warrior are weak as well. Nature's Warrier II opens up the Fatal Harrier enhancement, which is nice to have, but not worth the cost, IMHO. Therefore, I have opted to take Season's Herald II instead. Second, CoasterHop's build takes four levels of monk and one level of fighter. Again, .5[W] from two more levels of monk is not worth much unless maybe you use winter wolf form .5[1d10]=2.5; in normal or elemental form it only amounts to .5[1d6], which is something like 1.5. Accordingly, I have dropped the two levels of monk. This grants me two more levels of druid for both water and fire elemental form (rather than only fire), higher spell dc's, and additional spell slots.

    - Stunning Fist with great dc.
    - Power Attack and Precision.
    - GTWF.
    - Great Cleave.
    - Excellent offensive casting.
    - Evasion.

Druid is divine but I guess you got what you needed. Basically you need WIS based caster to get good casting and Stunning Fist abilities.
    I may be dumb...

I can't tell how much melee DPS you actually want outta this build, but did you consider going winter-wolf-form w/Nature's Warrior? Shrike provides a steady stream of temp SPs while Reaving Roar is a great free AoE. The main drawback is the 2.5x spell cooldown in animal forms w/out capstone.

Well, I was thinking originally of making something parallel to my 2M/18C clonk, but "arcane" instead of divine. My clonk is wisdom based (rather than strength based), so I did not have to compromise on spell dc's, but I did take twf, itwf, and gtwf. Melee is secondary for the most part, though at a reasonable level my clonk could breeze through the vale relying merely on the healing aura and bursts along w/ repeated stunning fists and melee w/o ever casting a spell.

I figure that on a Druid evoker build the stunning fist dc's are so good that it just seems foolish to pass it up. I thought of taking only one monk level rather than two, so as not to compromise a caster level, but the extra feat plus evasion is hard to pass up as well. The only other compromise on casting in favor of melee I have considered is swapping empower spell for the natural fighting feat, but that does require animal form.

In any case, the primary idea was to be a caster first, melee second.

I've changed the build in the OP to better reflect my goal of creating an "arcane" caster with stunning fist and reasonable melee to parallel my clonk (divine caster with stunning fist) by taking PA, Cleave, Great Cleave, TWF, ITWF, and GTWF.

couple of things about druids that loosely apply, this is for EE questing:

    - To solo heal EE quests all you really need is quicken, emp heal, mass regenerate, heal, and primal cocoon and/or renewal.

    - Building a wisdom based druid is about 1 spell and only 1 spell: Earthquake. Understand that your forced to chase after DC's to make that spell godly. However even a first life druid with most of the evocation and wisdom items you still have enough DC's to earthquake in EE tor, but you need to baby it and be in water form.

    - The only other benefit running wisdom (in EE) as a druid is you can blind mobs with your light spells (this is underused and very good) and use stunning fist.

    - Your best damage spells are single target no save damage spells: the cold dots and word of balance. Your AoE damage spells are mostly manna inefficient. This however means that you could dump wisdom and have almost the same spell DPS.

    - For caster based druids your probably better off with a lvl of wizard for the +40 spell power boosts than you are with a fighter level.

    - You may want to check out: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=412067 its my take on a caster druid with melee potential.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the advice Pilgrim. I feel it pulling me in different directions though. For example, earthquake is the number one spell for druids and requires a good dc, but supposedly druids can acquire excellent levels of spell damage with low wisdom by using cold dots and word of balance. Not sure where to go with that.

    Here are some considerations:
    On Stunning Beauty II
    - Drop Empower Spell, Mental Toughness, and Improved Mental Toughness for TWF, ITWF, and GTWF.
    - Alternatively, once tree form is acquired, drop TWF, ITWF, and GTWF for Power Attack, Cleave, and Great Cleave. This option of course depends on what is a greater benefit to damage at endgame (see Pilgrim's thread).

    On Stunning Beauty I
    - Drop the one level of fighter for one level of wizard. Switching from fighter to wizard seems to be a wash, because I don't have enough action points to really take advantage of the enhancements opened up by wizard. I also don't like the loss of one to BAB, though that is rather trivial. I'll have to think this through a little more.
    - Drop the one level of fighter for another level of druid. This is like swapping precision for spell focus: everything. It's tempting, but losing precision seems like too big a sacrifice at this time. Hence, I've opted to keep the level of fighter.
