    Cool

    1. I REALLY REALLY REALLY dislike the forums in this current barely usable form. Example: how does one upload an image when all the darn buttons are invisible????

    2. Yes, this is from lamdaland.

    Default Sold

More misc weapons (caster ice ice, neg neg, fire fire etc) 14
    Ring Poison and Protection 5

Have been trying to put items up for auction so that they will expire prime time Sunday. All items come with a buy out where possible so people who are in a hurry can pay for the privilege.

    Somethings dont sell

Have been listing universal spell components 1000 for all sorts of prices including starting bid 3 no one wants.
Guild slotted medium items also zip (some which I thought were quite good too)
Augments mainly red damage augments and a reconstruction one (I can see why no one wanted that one)

    Starting Shard Count: 99

Wow, rolled a 3 on the daily roll and won 35 astral shards. Had no idea you could win that many.

recently sold some shadow mail for 15 shards and then purchased an axe of the chained soldier for 12. Also won another 2 astral shards in a daily roll.

    Ending Shard Count: 139

Total Shards Earned To Date (without spending TPs): 182

Total TPs spent on shards: 0

The ASAH got me thinking, what would keep Turbine from not placing items into the Auction House? I don't see any benefit to Turbine's profit/loss from the normal platinum Auction House. However, the ASAH uses a currency that is based on real-world cash.

It would be a game-ethics situation, so I see why Turbine wouldn't do this. Yet, placing enough sought-after items on the ASAH could 'in-theory' increase astral shard sales to Turbine. This is because those astral-shards from an ASAH purchase go back to Turbine, or a fake character (not into the game's economy), and players that really want an item instead of doing the quest work for it will purchase those astral shards, pending the price is nominal.

    Ok, was off by 2k.
I'm not saying this isn't true...
But I do image editing at work all day, and it would take me all of 30 seconds to change whatever number was in there originally to whatever number I wanted to be there. Especially with it being white text on a black background.
I'm not saying I don't believe it, or that its not true. Just saying that a screen shot doesn't always prove something.

There's only an appearance of ethical dilemma and it's an illusion. Turbine owns the game and everything, your items included, you're technically renting the right to use them. This idea that they're morally or ethically bound to not seed any AH or any other things in the game is simply an illusion brought about by the similarities of "seeding the AH" with real life relatable counterparts like rigged gambling in real life casinos. We aren't gambling nor are we in public and as such Turbine is under no obligation to "be fair".

Now that said, they aren't seeding the ASAH, and they wont, because the PERCEPTION that this is somehow ethically wrong is enough, and it would be bad PR and might even result in frivolous law suits (which are expensive) if it got out. Not worth the effort.

This is also ignoring that it would be VERY easy to saturate the market and lower the players ability to sell their items and their profit margin when they do, thus COSTING them in the long run, causing players to be less willing to "farm items" and lowering the available items on the ASAH. None of these things are desirable, as it's quite clear that sellable Bound items plus this ASAH is a strategy to get people to replay quests more than they otherwise might.

So in summery: it's not ethically wrong for them to seed, but they aren't doing it for any number of much more concrete reasons.

On topic: I started with purely free AS, I believe 31 of them, I have had as many as 2000, but currently sit at 800, after buying some stuff:

Selling highlights: White EH dragon helm for 800
Buying a Devastation lootgen Axe with a decent other affix and flipping it, spent 100k plat (no kidding that little) for 300 AS
End chain reward (EN?) Jeweled cloak for 300
End chain reward (EN?) Ring of Djinn and Ancestral band for 300

    Buying highlights
    + 4 Tome bidding ended at 21 AS (that's about 115k plat!)
Lots of +3 tomes for less than 30 AS (about 150-175k plat equivelent)
Drow Greataxe for 100 shards (about 600k plat equivelent usually sell for 1mil plus)

Plat equivelent to my eyes is about 26-27 shards per 150kp this holds up well except when you get to things which have dramatically increased in value (Raid timer prices for example have doubled in plat cost the last month or two but only increased about 10% on the on Der Shardhuas around 35 AS to the 250-300k people are asking on the plat AH.)

On Sarlona I see the heavy forts going for 30-35 shards on average. I ended up picking one up myself for 28 since I have nothing else to spend shards on atm.

Won a raid bypass the other day and just sold it today for 40 shards so I netted 28. Also won 2 more shards on a roll so even with my heavy fort purchase I'm up another 2 shards.

Sold a lightning-singed soarwood for 15 shards. Didn't think that would sell for that much.
