Default The Straw - Endless Flask of Rum - CC

So I like the game and all, but this could be it. I wont click 2440 times after spending 5500 shards to get this item. I hope this is a mistake and the developers fix it, otherwise it's the straw that broke the camels back - I will be looking for another game. If this is the future of DDO - I don't want any part of it.

    Hi,

It's not a bad item, but getting it is the interface at its absolute worst.

Cannith crafting is another example of how badly this is done. Sundering enough greater essences to get to crafting 100+ in each school nearly did my wrists in.

It would be nice if these things could be improved.

    Thanks.

It seems the current crop of "people in charge of the game" don't seem to be able to imagine anything they do is a "mistake", much less consider "fixing" any of it. We're just a bunch of whiny prima donnas who are stuck in the past and can't move forward into the wonderful future they have planned (regardless of player opinion of those plans...)

This game needs bigger turn in ratios. Like 100 to 1 - like trading mats for another - not 2 for 1, not 10 for 20. How about 100 for 200 etc. think big. Gems? Think 10 for 10 or 100 for 100. This is one of the few games I know of (modern anyways) that have a lousy turn in mechanism.

I hear ya. All the clicking in the game can really get to my pointer finger. Melee toons especially can cause me trouble sometimes, and I have to either switch back to a spell caster or take a break. For crafting, I have used free mouse auto clicker 3.0. All it does is just click. You have to line everything up and there is no automation beyond clicking. High end mice can do the same thing, but I play with a $5 mouse and a free clicker program

Might want to edit this out because I think the devs frown on/forbid using external programs to alter the game. I.e. macros, etc. Just to be safe, I could be wrong though.

Sounds to me like he altered his mouse, not the game.

That is why I made the point that most high-end mice do the exact same thing. It is not a macro.

    I like this initiative.

    If I may add:
-buying potions in a stack and not clicking 100 times. It's not hard to add a counter and pick howmany potions you wanna buy. Same goes for spell components and scrolls.
-Stone of change. Ever tried making Average Khyber Dragonshard? 10000 fragments, 3 min of clicking and you get 8 Dragonshards. Why can't this be made with 1 click?

If you're clicking to attack you can enable "Click and Hold to Attack" through Options - Gameplay. Does excatcly what it says.

You can hold down the Ctrl key while clicking the item you want to buy, gives you an input box to buy in multiples.

They could make barter system where if you have all materials needed to get final upgrade that you get final upgrade, without the need to go from scratch.

You can hold <cntrl> and select the potion/scroll/ and items like "crude vials" from the vendor and a window will pop up where you can enter the number you want to purchase.

Kinda like splitting stacks of stuff in your inventory.

So you are quitting because of an optional item that nobody must have at all in an optional in-game event??

    Bye.

It's totally true, I have a reliable source. You better reroll now.

Thx all. I knew how to split stack, didn't know same applies with buying stacks too. You helped me a lot.

    Hendrik,

I was all set to go off on you. But, nah. You are correct on the optional part - this time. What about next time? And the time after that? This item makes me so mad I can't see straight. My post was because I value my free time more than I value any single game - even if that game has a name I have liked for decades. I play VIP and buy points, etc etc. If the trend is going to be items like this one then I will take my sparce free time and my money to another game.

But, thanks for the compassion for a fellow player.

seems like some people are wrongly taking issue with macros.

No bannings for automation/macro use will happen without a Game Master first trying to communicate with the player in question. That's a fairly rigorous process that includes opening a window on your screen saying to check your tells because a GM has been trying to contact you, and they also wait at least a minute for a response.
I macro, and think it's very defensible.

It's so sad that this is what it's come down to, but it's a great suggestion. Thanks- I'm going to look into it right now... I've been stalling on leveling my crafting because crunching to lessers is such a pain.
