Default Does the idea of a new expansion leave you feeling "tired"?

Well, I am grinding my butt off for that new awesome EH and EE Gianthold gear.

    You know the gear...

It made all the old gear you already had pretty much obsolete.

So is that what is going to happen when the new "Expansion" comes out?

This just leaves me feeling "tired".

This is not meant to be an "I Quit" thread or a "Doom" thread.

But I would like them to not release a new "Expansion".

They need to address current problems first.

Maybe release a free update or 3.

I am too tired to name all my complaints.

New posters...feel free to to name your complaints.

I am afraid the bean counters saw the success of MotU and think they can replicate...

I think they will be disappointed.

I just think its too soon...

I can understand your point of view, and I haven't yet taken advantage of the last expansion to any real degree, but just for myself I like that the game is expanding and growing. It means that contrary to the cries of doomsayers, it is not dying. I hope. City of Heroes was expanding and growing too, and no I'm not going to shut up about that anytime soon.

You may have missed it in all the bread and circus distraction of 10% bonus xp to VIPs. Pay no attention to newly labelled content that your subscription fees do not cover behind the curtain.

Wow. Sounds like you need a break. The expansion won't happen until late summer probably so you'll have plenty of time to get outside and do stuff between now and then.

Personally I'm looking forward to the expansion. It sounds great. More content is always better IMO. But then I don't grind gear or xps. I play for fun and camaraderie. As soon as I feel like its becoming a grind I take a break or do something else. Sometimes for a few hours. Sometimes for a few days.

    Its much too soon.
After people started grinding epic GH items, they recieved info that they will turn into vendor trash in 3-5 months.

This is exactly why I don't bother with endgame, it seems like so much grinding for things that will get chucked out anyway.

It's too much, it's not enough, it's too hard, it's too easy, the game is dying, the game is producing too much content, the gear from the last two updates suck, the new content will invalidate the gear from the last two updates.

You people are hilarious, but certainly never boring.

Default There has to be an expansion

DDO was sort of perceived as dying and that is why DDO went F2P, no new content.

The vocal VIP player base(everyone was VIP then, not all players were vocal and on the forums) was clamoring for new stuff more often and Turbine was not giving it. Turbine issued the infamous words of VAST & MYSTERIOUS at this time. Now, if you see old players mention vast & mysterious you know whence it came from.

For me, I don't have enough time to see all that has been released now. I am probably three update releases behind everyone else for completely mastering them.

I just plod along, Turbine can do what they do to stay in business. As long as I get value for my entertainment dollar, I am fine with it.

I survived the scary events in 2009, 2010, and 2011. 2011 did not reward those that played by the rules.

There is a new expansion planned for "this summer"...so anything from 3 to 6 months away....
There is very little detailed information available, there is however a massive amount of speculation, devoid of any real facts to back it up.

Par for the course in DDO land.

Wait and see is my advice before jumping in with more theories and poorly informed opinion.

Amen brother. I still haven't done Tower of Despair even once and it's been out how many years now? I've been here since level cap was 16.

We'll know DDO is in trouble when the players stop complaining.

You know.... I had a doom post all typed up. But honestly, especially after this post by such a renowned community member, I really doubt that it matters any more. If they are determined to sink DDO with crappier and crappier systems, then that is just how it is going to be. *shrug* Some people will always keep playing. Best of luck to them.

So now people are "tired" of new content. Lol.

Sorry I think that's crazy. New content keeps the game interesting for people like me who've been playing for a few years. Heck, I want even more content ... especially in FR.

Good point. The only thing worse than bad press is no press.
