    Default Evasion/DPS/DoTter/Healer build for completionist

    Hello everybody!
    My beloved Snemeis of Sarlona is approaching level 20 again, therefore I can finally plan the next build.
    As I repeatedly promised to myself, this time it will be a healer, and I was thinking about a FvS.

    I got some past-lifes behind me:
    1. Ranger (Rgr18/Mnk2)
    2. Fighter (Ftr20)
    3. Rogue (Rog13/Ftr6/Mnk1)
    4. Wizard (Wiz18/Mnk2)
    5. Barbarian (Brb18/Ftr2)

    My intentions for this build were mixed (or you could say confuse):
    1. Must be able to be main healer in lvl17-18 raids (Shroud, VoD, HoX, up to Horoth max, I live in the past guys).
    2. Must be a viable soloer up to high levels (18-19 at least).
    3. Must have viable evasion (not like my actual Barbarian...)
    4. Should be a good DPS, not uber but good, so to be able to solo long quests with no SP starvation (not like my previous pale master Wizard...)

    5. Must not be a Warforged (I didn't buy the race, that's all).

    To achieve that I got a plan, but I never built a FvS and surely trying to achieve all this is a lot at the first trial.

    The plan is: FvS18, Mnk or Rog 2, DEX based with full two weapons fighting feat line and a couple of Envenomed Blades (which can use DEX for both attack and damage, if higher than STR).

    There are some weapons which has this odd choice for attack and damage, and most of those based on DEX for damage are quarter staffs or shortswords. Since it is the only race which benefits from some bonuses on short-swords, I was thinking about a Drow.

    Here is my first proposal of a build, I would really appreciate constructive suggestions if you have something in mind that might better suit my wish list.

    In brief the Drow built like this has, unbuffed but with equipment (at level 20, after which I'll TR again): 36 DEX (+13 dmg mod), 512 HP, evasion (+32 reflex save), ~2200 SP, and for the feats they are down here.

    EDIT: a previous version was missing power attack, which is a plain stupid thing on this kind of build. Giving up some skill point in favor of a more careful level progression (notably fvs/mnk/fvs/mnk at the first 4 levels, instead of mnk/fvs/mnk/fvs), I've been able to slot every feat in the right order.

    What do you plan to melee with until you get to lvl 16 (Envenomed Blades)? The only other short swords I know of which use DEX for dmg are the Assassin Blades - which are nice, but I've been trying to farm them for a while now and have yet to see even one drop, despite slaying Ithun dozens of times.

    Even if you plan to stick w/DEX-based, max DEX & CON are too expensive to be worthwhile, IMHO; at the least, you'd want Power Atk in there somewhere.

    There are a couple more, i dunno where i got a list of them, they are in TBC and all the interesting ones are shortswords. I'll try to farm them.

    And WOW, ty for pointing out I was missing PA! I was screwing the whole thing up.
    Now I decreased CON by 1 at lvl 1 (it would have give me an odd number at lvl20 anyway), and with that I increased STR to 11.
    At lvl 7 with a +2 tome (13 STR) i'll swap the two weapon defense feat with PA at Fred (can I do something like this? I hope so).

    Apparently you cannot just take a tome at lvl7 and swap a first level feat for another that needed that extra tome as requirement. I modified the build accordingly.

    I'd suggest you using a couple midnight greetings from level 5 -- wind stance would add a meaningful DPS boost to this build.

    I believe sun blade got a boost in U17. It will be helpful too.

    I think what you might be interested in is a 17 cleric 3 monk

    You get level IX spells, evasion, fists of light
    The build itself is ALWAYS in a stance which is optional. I prefer water since it gives another DC to your stunning fist and better saves; also switch between unarmed and staves. From when I've seen people with this build they use Grave Wrappings and Staff of the Petitioner.

    Human:
    Str: 12
    Dex: 10
    Con: 16
    Int: 8
    Wis: 18
    Cha: 10 or 12 depending on what's left.

    The str does not need to be crazy as any mob you actually hit is taking 50% more damage from stuns.

    Stun DC: 10(base) + 12(level) + 10(wraps) + 6-9(destiny) + wis mod = 38-41 + wis mod
    The DC may be much higher if you build your wisdom as high as possible.
    With a base 18(+4) mod you already have 42-45 and that will easily be 50+ DC by 25
    Also, you get more for fighter past lives. +1 per past life.

    For EH I think 52 DC is 70% chance and maybe 30-40% in EE with over 52 you will be fine.

    Contributions will be:
    - buffs
    - healing
    - stuns(CC)
    - some dps

    Tell me what you think on the build.

    I'm definetely interested in a clonk build, aura DPS toons intrigue me much.

    For this time I'm still TRing into a FvS, next healer will probably be such an evasive clonk.

    I guess i was really lucky then, I ransacked that ches 3 times from 3 different toons and got a pair of assassin's blade.
    It was boring, but not so long, just 3 evenings' grinding.

    Im thinking ditch the finesse idea and roll as a str based toon with 14 dex (+3 tome for ITWF) and up your str and put level ups to str.

    It gives you a far superior choice of weapons and will likely = more dps in the long run.

    Maybe look at focusing on Scimis and knock yourself out a Triple positive and a RAD II Greensteel weaps.

    Edit: It also means you dont have to be drow so could go half elf for scimis or human for extra feat, both of these races also net you heal amp, which increases your self survivability.

    I just finished a life with a pure DPS all-in STR barbarian, and I really missed evasion. The purpose of this build is not to be a great dps, is to be an evasion/dps, in that order.

    Thanks for the suggestion though, if it were not for evasion you'd be surely right.

    Well u have the evasion feat and even if not concentrating on dex I would imagine you could still hit some fairly decent Reflex saves come end game.
    The beauty of EDs is that they allow you too prepare your character for the content you plan on tackling. Unearthly Reflexes from the Magister destiny is a pretty decent low level twist which nets you +3 dodge and +6 reflex once levelled to Rank 3 (Its a tier I ability) you could always look at twisting this in when heading to content that is either spell or trap heavy.

    I would imagine that at end game (lvl 25) a reflex save of 50 or so would be achievable even without the U.Reflex twist.

    But if just playing it to lvl 20 is your aim how about:
    You could ditch drow go Half Elf, pick up additional amp from enhancements as well as use the Paladin Dilli and make sure you have 20 charisma at end game, which would net you 5 to all three saves, and you could build it str based instead and focus on scimitars or longswords. This would probably net you a similar reflex save, more amp and not pigeon hole you into using dex to hit/damage weapons.
    I notice that you have it shown as 12 charisma end game, but that is obviously without a +6 item, +2 exceptional, ship buffs etc.

    are you totally sold on the drow idea? Because half-elf would get you better con for the amount of points put in, and you could take fighter dilletante and use all weapons, start with a more well rounded character also. I'll post an example in a few minutes

    Default What I would've done

    I just wanted to show you what I would've done, the reason wisdom helps with your DCes of blade barrier. I also tend to punch with my monk builds and take stunning fist (But didn't change your make up of what you wanted ... if I were you I would dump extend and go with stunning fist instead. None of my favored souls have extend because it only works on buffs and <shrugs> isn't necessary.)

    The reason i changed the order of your fvs acid/cold is because acid is more useful earlier and cold is more useful at higher levels so in my builds I reverse that order although i do take fire first like you did. Although instead of cold I take electric because I'm not really interested in TOD which is the only place I think that cold is really useful.
