When UO found players skilling up to "grandmaster" months even YEARS before anyone was supposed to get there, by "farming" the same thing over and over in the same place; they put in road blocks to slow players down, they made "gains" trail off if you staid in the same area "farming". Of course instead of just PLAYING, the Players started 8x8ing or in other words farming, then moving 8 tiles and farming some more (liberally defining farming as any repetitive chore) and moving 8 tiles etc.
To this day I don't really get why anyone would want to bypass playing the game, to do something unfun, I.e. farming, so as to "finish" a character for an end game that doesn't exist. But they do. And MMO developers are constantly trying to find ways to slow them down and encourage them to PLAY, and sometimes even beat them over the head with a system that can be an uber grind, if they insist on farming instead of just playing and letting it happen. To me this ED system whether its a big potential grind as I thought, or even bigger than I thought, either way I think its one of those systems. Either way I don't like proxy leveling, maybe some other adjustment is in order, maybe expanding the cap to 30 and adding to the ED trees; will stretch the ED's out such that less advancement in unused ED's will be needed to get the twists you want. I also think they probably should have released the system with only one twist possible, expanding to more later. And again I hate the traveling through the tree mechanic to get to ED's you like.
