    Default Crystal Cove Changes

I had tier3 L20 gloves and ring, put them in the barter box, came back with no valid recipes. But the items were allowed to be put into the barter box...I tested with a piece of random trash loot, and it wouldn't let me place it into the window.

New higher level monsters. Ran into half-orc pirates at level 23 (much less irritating than the minotaurs), and "Raider Captain Troll Faced Thom" as a redname. Thom was a human, killing him did successfully add him to the monster manual.

Area is no longer as restrictive with public area spells. I was able to throw a lot of AOE spells in the Cove that are prohibited in general city areas. Hirelings still forbidden.

    Notable so far:

New tier of gem for upgrades. Star Sapphire and Star Ruby. Presumably for running Cove on L26-30 difficulty.

New recipe in the barter box to "trade down" your gems. All trade-downs are at a 1:1 ratio.

    Star Sapphire --> Diamond --> Ruby --> Amethyst --> Obsidian --> Alabaster

    Star Ruby --> Emerald --> Sapphire --> Topaz --> Amber --> Pyrite

(Shouldn't the Star Sapphire and Star Ruby swap places?)

    New Rune Arm:

Note: That is BtCoE...it does not come bound.

    Upgrade 1: 750 Gold Doubloons, 95 Star Rubies, 80 Star Sapphires, 800 (!) dragonshards. Adds Impulse 114.

Upgrade2: 750 Gold Doubloons, 120 Star Rubies, 100 Star Sapphires, 1000 (!!!) dragonshards. Upgrades Impulse to 120... I have trouble imagining something less worth the bother than this.

New endless potion, with a lengthy upgrade path. First one costs 50 copper doubloons.

Upgrade 1: Reduces Cooldown to 9 minutes
    Cost: 200 Copper, 30 Alabaster, 30 Pyrite, 100 dragonshards.

Upgrade 2: Changes to Cure Moderate
    Cost: 500 Copper, 45 Amber, 45 Obsidian, 200 dragonshards

Upgrade 3: Reduce Cooldown to 8 minutes
    Cost: 500 Silver, 50 Topaz, 50 Amethyst, 300 dragonshards

Upgrade 4: Changes to Cure Serious
    Cost: 750 Silver, 80 Topaz, 80 Amethyst, 400 dragonshards

Upgrade 5: Reduce Cooldown to 7 minutes
    Cost: 1000 Silver, 70 Sapphire, 70 Ruby, 500 dragonshards

Upgrade 6: Upgrade to Cure Critical
    Cost: 1500 Silver, 90 Sapphire, 90 Ruby, 600 dragonshards

Upgrade 7: Reduce Cooldown to 6 minutes
    Cost: 750 Gold, 70 Diamond, 70 Emerald, 700 dragonshards

Upgrade 8: Adds "Restoration" to the Cure Critical
    Cost: 750 Gold, 80 Diamond, 80 Emerald, 800 dragonshards

Upgrade 9: Reduce Cooldown to 5 minutes
Cost: 750 Gold, 95 Star Ruby, 80 Star Sapphire, 900 dragonshards

Upgrade 10: Upgrade Cure Critical to Heal. Keeps Restoration.
Cost: 750 Gold, 120 Star Ruby, 100 Star Sapphire, 1000 dragonshards.

Total dragonshards needed: 5500 (that's 19 perfect cove runs, with 300 shards each run).

The flasks are not exclusive, but I bought 2 of the basic ones and drank one...the timer applied to both of them. So no point in having more than one.

Thought: Effect should be changed to work full strength on Warforged (assuming it doesn't now).

So, looks like I'm doing cove this year, assuming that potion makes it to live as is (or better).

Did upgrading the flask change the minimum level? Is the cure effect caster level 11? Sounds pretty exciting, like a must have item for a barbarian.

They should add a skindiving minigame where people can dive down and look for all the gold doubloons that were tossed into the water from previous coves.

I like the look of that endless potion - will be very nice on a number of my characters. Time to start mentally preparing for hours of kobold running i guess.
I don't mean to come across as unsympathetic - but I am, so I do.

Every other upgrade to the flask raises it's ML by 2, so fully upgraded it is ML 11. Every upgrade raises the CL by 1, so again at max upgrade it is CL 11.

This is a major sticking point. We now have to find out is different tiers of the Flask share the same cooldown.

Am I missing something? Why is a once every five minute heal worth such a grind?

it's a bit expensive ye, but this can be a nice item to have and a real lifesaver in tricky situations

Heal, 5 min cooldown..Not bad, not that great. Not sure I will farm so many Cove runs for a 5min heal.

    Yeah.

Now say it were 10 uses/rest or something that might be different.

    Default Heal every five minutes

Replicates T2 grandmaster of flowers innate, or looking at it another way, it's a free silver flame pot every five minutes without the drawback.

Not sure I'll grind for it myself but I can see the appeal.

Or can you just buy the higher level potion directly for a more expensive price?
There is a new gem exchange that allows downgrading gems at a rate of 1:1.
