New to the game and have an evasion paly at level 5, but what I'm finding is that most groups have run quests / dungeons so many times that they just blow through the dungeon without a 2nd thought.
This is great for chars that want to gain XP ASAP (which is fine for my paly), but I'd like to have one char that can "smell the roses" and be able to solo sufficiently that he can take most easy & hard quests at a good pace for enjoying the quests, disabling / avoiding traps, etc.
The search function on these forums sucks (or maybe that's me...) and I'm having a hard time finding builds that meet my desires.
A few I have found and am weighing are the Healing marked ranger (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=318400), The tempest trapmonkey (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=277496), and the pale master (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=397640).
If it helps, I just started a 3 month VIP sub to find out what char type I like to play, but am always looking for good advice.
One question I have is if stealth is worth the skills pts, on some games it's great for surviving quests better, pulling mobs, etc. but I'm sure DDO has its own take. Another concern I have is tht in most other games, casters are squishy as heck, so though the pale master seems very self sufficient and powerful later on in levels, I'm not sure how casters play the early levels in DDO.
Appreciate any / all advice I get, thanks for your time and be safe!
EDIT: Wondering if the battlecleric build mentioned by unbongwah in this thread would work also: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=392436
