The seals sound like you are a bit on the unlucky side, but several of the quests you mentioned either don't drop seals (Tide Turns), only drop seals in one chest (Bargain of Blood, Black Loch), or have strangely low drop rates (Jungle of Khyber).

It does sound like you are getting pretty lucky with scrolls though.
I did know that Tide Turns is the only quest in that chain in which Shards drop. I'm running the **** out of it to try to get the Elyd Edge Shard so I can upgrade mine to Epic. I did finally get a Shard to drop for me in Tide, though it was Chimera. Still, the shutout streak is OVAH!

I did not know, however, that Seals could not drop in Tide. Thank you for that information, unwelcome though it was (not your fault though...game mechanics are what they are, right?).

But you're making an even better point here, and that is these quests have very few chests in them so, even assuming that any chest can drop a Seal, when you're talking about 1 or, rarely, 2 chests in a quest, you're going to have to complete many runs of the quests to see one drop as opposed to a quest in which there are, say, 5 or 6 chests.

Yeah, the scroll drops are the saving grace here. If I was going 20 quests without seeing one of those drop, I think
I'd give up and start playing Hello Kitty Online.

Don't do that, the epic paw piece drops in Hello Kitty Online are significantly harder to pull.

I wouldn't waste my runs on epic casual. Run normal at least or the %chance of the drops you want are just way to low.
Don't give up.A lot of the time I've ran for stuff only to find better stuff along the way.

Agreed totally. The only reason I ever run Epic Casual is for the first time XP bonus. When farming, Epic Normal or even Epic Hard is, as you say, the much better choice.

On a semi-related note...anyone else use the level 24 Ranger hire? I think he's a Shiradi Champion (I have no post-20 melees as yet so am not familiar with the Martial side of the EDs). I see him hit Epic mobs for 300-400 a swing on a regular basis, which makes him my prime choice for melee hires. I did try an Arcane, but found that she blasted through her entire sp bar well before we got to a shrine. Was rather sad to see her trying to whack Epic mobs with her staff......on the other hand, that was about the only instance in which my Spellsinger had higher dps than a hire.

    That figures.

And it drops only in the end litterbox in the "I Tot I Saw A Puddycat" raid, too.

Well...the stars aligned, dogs and cats live together in harmony and all is well in the world (of Orien)!

I'm guessing my thirtieth (or so) run of Tide Turns and what pops up in the end chest but a Shard of the Elyd Edge!

After 3 1/2 years in the game, I finally have my first Epic item. OK...so I'm late to the party, but at least I made it, right?

I'll admit that I was beginning to despair a bit. Make that alot. A whole bunch. But I stuck with it, being the gaming masochist that I am, and good things happened at last. If there is a moral to the story, it is to persevere. And imbibe copious amounts of Jack Daniels while doing so.
