See "Druid Life" P1 for 1-18
I'm at 23 now. Most of the goodies are equipped and I'm learning really nice combos of equipment and powers.
My dog BlancaLobo has 994 HP and he hits like a bag of bricks.
I wish they (pets) could take fort as an action point. It sucks only being able to equip armor with heavy fort.
Crafting doesn't help because there's really no good powers to use at epic levels.
I ended up doing a greater res to give myself more str and less wisdom. So it's 38str, 40con, 30wis.
I'm finding the wolf melee to be pretty powerful dps.
At the moment I'm using Legendary Dreadaught ED and I'm literally about to get masters blitz for the first time ever.
I'll probably just stay there till I TR again and then go Fury of the wild.
With 736 HP I'm pretty durable. Except on epic elite, traps aren't so deadly without evasion anymore.
I'm really surprised at how the seeker bonuses add up to huge increases.
I'm getting as high a seeker as I can and hope to have a 31% double-strike by next level. At 25% now.
I imagine with masters blitz it's gonna be pretty awesome.
I stopped using staffs altogether. Since I'm always in wolf form, S&B has more to offer in powers and gear.
Flame blade is the biggest joke ever. I never use it anymore. But I've got better toys.
It may not be a max damage weapon, but I'm really enjoying the AOE combo the Fang of Syberys offers.
With a variety of damage guards, fire shield, enveloping swarm and reaving roar proccing, it's pretty nasty against mobs.
Things just start going poof in rapid succession. I'm like an evil porcupine at a balloon drop celebration.
If only the fang was upgradable. For the tuff stuff I bring out Min2 GS or w/e self crafted scimi I need.
Epic Unkors cleaver was a lot of fun to use as well between lvls 20-22.
I'm gonna be honest here. The summons can be pretty powerful with buffs and the stat bonuses.
There's a decent collection of creatures as well for whatever needs doing.
I've seen real life people play worse and survive less.
It sux that the summons timers run out before they're buffs do.
Wish I could extend the time somehow beyond 10 mins.
Hires are actually useful in a druids hands. Particularly melee builds.
They have glitch days of course but they can get pretty beefed up by the druid abilities/buffs.
I've had people scoff when I pulled out a hire. Until they saw it had more HP than them.
As a first life druid I can already add +14 to stats. Even more for short bursts of 3mins.
I can only imagine what it will be like when I get my eshard of the wolf whistle.
That big doggie is gonna be like a five minute terrasque.
Overall I like the druid so far. There are levels when it's weak and some where it shines.
Now I've got new problems.
I've noticed I play a lot more solo than normal. And when I do run with friends I get frustrated.
Most of my buds are the type to enter on EH with 3 people, charge ahead and start killing 2 secs after entering.
Some pugs are the same. Get in and get moving.
That's my problem. None of my protections and buffs are permanent. Every 20ish minutes I need to recast it all.
Normal procedure. I know. But at my best I'm actually 4-5-7 different bodies.
Me, the dog, the superhire and a supersummons. If klins in the party add the big devil.
If we run across some wild beasts I get up to 3 more big buddies and I'm claiming kills for every one of them too!
As a druid I've gotten an identity crisis. See all those misadventure deaths? those are me killing through a proxy.
It's a whole voltron party already. lol. Something like 3000 to 4000 max extra HP's in the party.
IDK... 30-40 extra attacks per round and huge chunks of damage all added to the party as a whole.
To do much of that takes a total of about 42 individual buffs. Sry, I don't have quicken for a feat starved melee.
I'd say it's a total 2.5 minute buffing process. (my first caster life btw)
Even with just me and the dog to buff. A fraction of what the build brings to the table.
It still takes 24 clickies just to cover the basics available to the class.
No I'm not gonna smother my gear with permanent protections that I can cast as needed instead.
So therein lies my newest issue. If only we had combo clickies we could string together and with one click get a list of effects/actions covered.
To really get my full fun potential in this build while questing, it's best to run alone. relatively speaking.
Less sociable but quite fun. And there's noone rushing ahead or breathing heavy into the mic
while you waste 2-3 of their precious minutes adding the list of party assets above.
I still sometimes do a shroud or guild raids. But I haven't really quested with anyone now since lvl's 18ish.
Lord knows I gave up on the whole "farming" mentality.
I'm in no rush to get anything or be anywhere and there's nothing I need so badly I have to repeat a rat/maze process till my eyes bleed.
lol sounds like freedom.
Druid Life 24-25+ next time.
