We have quite a lot of epic content right now. With every update we get even more.. (up 17 epic GH?). This change could extend game vitality, give us reason to play 'old' epics. Give us reason to enjoy every gained ED lv. We could feel progress.
Multi TRing to geth fresh XP is natural.. Everything have their end. U cant eat 1 shocolate bar for eyars :P

Yes and those Giantholds all come with massive repeat penalties, since every currently existing character ran them to get from 13 to 16. I really don't think you get how fast unbridled repetition penalties blast xp, I guess because we're protected from the effects of it on our current 25s.

And no I'm not going to do multiple TRs and grind for months or years to get twist benefits that huge numbers of people got in a week. I'll just do something else with my life besides DDO. Probably go through Netflix's cache of Criterions. (At least until Netflix demands that in order to allow me to watch Criterions I have to first grind out the Hangover series and Matrix 2+3 and every Jerry Bruckheimer film.)

The whole thing is moot anyway because if the nerf really is 11% when it gets to live it won't stop anything. And if the whole quest is run in 9 minutes anyway, for even more xp, then again it makes this whole discussion moot.

I am sure you are at a loss, judging from your comments here, you either did not read my post, or choose only to use the parts that you liked to make your snarky response. Try this post it may help you:

Now if 11% is the amount they reduced it by then frankly it is not as bad as I was thinking it would be, why they could not have posted that in the notes is beyond me, while I am not sure about everyone else my post would have been along the lines of "Well that sucks, oh well."

Actually in this case I can only blame myself jumping the gun and all that, but frankly if Turbine would just communicate these little things at the same time they announce a nerf it would go a long way towards, if not acceptance, at least understanding from the player base. Oh well I am sure it will happen again as I will speak up if I think something is not right, and if later it proves that my assumptions are wrong, I have no problem admitting that, but to not speak up is to invite competency or silent approval, so I will retract my “Slap in the face” comment, and replace it with, “Unnecessary change.”

Yes some would have still complained, and do not misunderstand I still believe this in an unnecessary nerf; however, this will have little effect in how people run this quest, maybe they will run it a few times less and another quest a few times more but overall it changes nothing, so in the long run all they have done is make it so those that want to farm this quest for XP will have to run it one additional time for every 10 times they run it, makes little to zero sense to me if their stated objective was to get people to run it the "right way".

I know Devs *play* the game.

Have any actually attempted to fill out even three twist slots with tier I's, let alone getting any of the three over tier 1? Or tier 2?

Even doing dunrobar runs as they are now is a pain.

Doing it while leveling a caster through 4 Legendary Dreadnaught levels to get to the Shiradi sphere? Anyone at Turbine done this?

Anyone at Turbine done it while also trying to keep other characters advancing? Four or more characters? A dozen characters?

Just asking as a way to present a perspective.

I offer feedback that enabling people to play multiple different characters/classes will lead to great retention and ddo store sales.

So how much has the base xp been reduced? Are we talking about 50% reduction? Just a ball park figure would be enough.

Is the 11% refering to the base xp nerf? Is this what's currently on lam? I couldn't find where you got that number from. If it's only 11% base xp reduction, then it's not too bad. At least it's not an xp massacre like they did with challenges.

Every acquired ED lv should be like achievement. It should be hard to acquire.
    No, no no no!

15million with repeat penalties would be an achievement, but it would also make the ED system pointless. You wouldn't be able to be in your main destiny for ANY character for MONTHS.

Wouldn't have a problem with this sentiment if the power gained = the difficulty of getting said power. Plus, you should not have to give up said power gained just to level in a destiny that is nearly worthless for your character, so you can level the powers you actually WANT, instead of having to grind through just to get close.

Imagine if the non-epic Action Points worked this way! You'd have to level up in 3 different classes just to get to the one you actually wanted to play...

Great. Finally a quest I can stealth on my rogue for the devious bonus, then this. I guess it's back to monastery. Thanks Turbine.

it bugs me that when challenge xp was reduced, people complained that the devs hit the problem with a shotgun rather than a scalpel. Now here we are in the same situation and the devs have taken a scalpel to the problem and the whining continues. Besides, the base xp was reduced by something like 13%, not something to whine about. The zerging, capped, ED xp farmers can still do the exact same thing. The flower sniffers now have option to be rewarded a little extra for their way. Everyone wins.

I don't see any complaints about the size of the nerf.

I don't even see that many complaints about there being a nerf at all, especially when there are so many other sources of similar XP.

One thing I see is people upset that the many real and impactful bugs in this game were ignored so the devs could change something some people enjoyed.

Another thing I see is people upset that the many previous complaints about the ED system were completely ignored and to some degree exacerbated by this change.

But boy it won't be pleasant to be running actual quests where you actually care about performing well with an ED that gives you next to no benefit. And not just once or twice, enough to fill 16 million xp's worth. At that point, who'd care if you became a stronger character in the end? Playing for months at half strength just to gain an incremental power boost at the end of it may not end up being worth it at all.
Meh, I've been doing actual quests/raids and in gimped destinies to get all my ED xp, and it hasn't mattered all that much. Most of all, I've actually LEARNED just about all the destinies first hand, and sometimes know them better than people playing the class that they usually sync best with. It's actually been really fun to try a lot of different things out on dif type of alts.

There seemed ot be initial DOOOOoOoooOOom formt eh peopel that have the patience to run this quest 4,700 times a day. The nerf is hardly any nerf at all....

One thing I see is people upset that the many real and impactful bugs in this game were ignored so the devs could change something some people enjoyed.
Well, let's be fair here, it probably took them aobut 1 minute to change the XP values for this quest. I do agree that they do need to work on important bugs though, but I doubt this lost minute would've done much for those. But this does go back to the DDO team leaving things like this in the game, knowingly I might add, for too long. They need to change stuff like this fast or just leave it.

Another thing I see is people upset that the many previous complaints about the ED system were completely ignored and to some degree exacerbated by this change.
Hmm, I'm still playing a lot of different characters, I can't seem to care enough to dedicate to just one or two so that I could really max them out destiny wise. There are certianly some issues with the system though.

For the people saying it's not a nerf...

If you don't care about maxing your crappy destinies for EE play, either because you like being carried through on ee for being in a non-synergistic destiny or because you only play EH, and you don't farm rusted blades, stay on your own corner, for this discussion does not concern you. It's really easy to call something not a nerf when it doesn't affect you, and when it's not you who will have to compensate by running more of it.

Sure, we still have impossible demands and death undone. If everyone moves to those, how long will it take for devs to decide to nerf those too? Then we'll be running fathom, why not nerf that too? Will it be 'not a nerf' then as well when there's no viable way to amass destiny XP on higher xp/min?
