Do they drop in chests 3-6? I cannot recall.
Devs, this Christmas, why not give your players the best present of all:
the gift of clear, solid statistics.
Thank you, Feather. Have a wonderful holiday
Next thing you'll be dangling the elusive possibility of revamped printable character sheets that clearly define all relevant statistics without the need for reverse engineering exhaustive testing.
Why would you leave us with less stuff to whine about?! How very dare you?!
Which chests are chests 1 and 2?

Almost-never-played-alts: Arquera - Chapolin - Fabber - Herweg - Mecanico - Tenma
I want DDO to be a better game. Those are my personal suggestions on: Ammunition, Archmage, Combat Stances, Deities, Dispel Magic, Epic Destiny Map, Fast Healing, Favor, Favored Enemy, Half-elf Enhancements, Monk Kensai, Monk Stances, Past Life, Potency, Potions, Ranger Spells, Summons, Tiered Loot.
Greensteel - 48 larges for TWF, 24 for THF weaponry
Old epics - generally believed that drop rates for THF weapon components and TWF components are the same despite people wanting to dualwield the latter
Should have been 2/4/6 for two-handers and 2/3/4 for one-handers unless they are expected to be sword and board weapons.
I don't have a zerging problem.
I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.
Have all 6 (I should say 5, has anyone gotten a 6-chest Elite?) have a 100% com drop and you'd really see more people willing to nut-up and run this on EE.
I have one toon that needs about 60 comms to update her weapons . . . even at 2 elite runs a week that will take 6 months. And then there are my other toons . . .
The reason for that is that TWF was clearly better than THF. A higher cost for a higher reward sounds fair.
Now TWF is more expensive (not only gearwise, it is also statwise) but it is also worse than THF.
So, either decrease the cost of TWF weapons... or boost TWF to be slightly ahead of THF (not miles ahead!)
If you run on epic normal you need 100 completions on average to unlock a SINGLE weapon.
If you run on epic hard you need 50 completions on average to unlock a SINGLE weapon.
If you run on epic elite you need 8 completions to unlock a SINGLE weapon (with 1 comm left over), but Epic Elite completions are few and far between.
The current drop rate is simply not realistic.
More reasonable is 37.5% on normal (40 completions to unlock 1 weapon) and 75% on hard (20 completions to unlock 1 weapon).
OR - you could just significantly reduce the number of comms needed to unlock weapons.
Bottom line it seems a bit obnoxious to design the drops so that 20 hard completions won't even net you a single fully unlocked weapon.
Your math is off. You get the 15% chance twice per raid, not once per raid. Although even 50 runs on normal is pretty high to fully upgrade the weapons. Also devs, take note that the 15% chance twice per raid is better than 30% once per raid, because it makes the drop rate less spiky while keeping the average drop rate the same. I would like to see more raids like this.
The best upgrade is also the first one imo, which unlocks the set bonus, and would take 10 completions on normal (on average) to unlock the first one. This is much more reasonable.
What would be more reasonable from a player perspective: Heroic Commendations that were BtA. However there's no incentive for Turbine to do so, since it would drive players away from purchasing raid bypasses.
