Default Huge Ingredient bags - << RANT ON

Not sure if anyone else has done this thread but this is to Turbine.

    MAKE HUGE BAGS Bound-to-Account!!!!!!!!!

Its nonsense that we can only move stuff in large bags. With the recent change of loads of collectibles to be classified as ingredients the large bags are simply not large enough. I want to play the game and do quests, not spend my time p*ing around moving stuff between bags.

When they were first released, all store bags were BtA. No idea who the @%&! was who had the idea to make them BtC instead.

If the store-bags were BtA, i would have bought a bunch of them, but being BtC, I refuse to buy any.

Same here, now I find the large/medium in game bags and move the items through the shared bank to a Toon that has a Huge one. I will not buy another until they are no longer BTC..

This. The outcry was pretty loud for a forum but as is often the case, they chose not to listen.

    Nobody should be surprised though

We should just have a "collectibles" and "ingredients" tab in our inventories. These tabs should be like a mini shared bank and the items contained are all shared between your account. BtC ingredients can go in the antiquated bags. I say don't bother fixing the bags. Fix the system and remove the bags (for the most part).

    Not a bad idea.

They could even make a little money off a "Shared Collectible" and "Shared Ingredients" Cache.

I would pay all sorts of money to have the collectable/ingredients bank system from GW2. >.<

They were changed due to an exploit, specifically involving ingredient bags. Rather than fix the root problem, they changed all huge bags - gems, collectables and ingredients - to BtC. Threw the baby out with the bathwater.

The best part was when they made the change in a hotfix, it was an unannounced stealth change. If you were not careful to read the modified bag description, you were mislead. I believe some players received credits but overall, it was a really poor cs moment.

    Tell me about it.
If they were BtA, I'd have bought at least one (probably two) of ingredients bags, collectable bags and hireling folders.

Meanwhile, I made two mule accounts, grinded 10 favor on like three or so servers, and bought ingredient/collectable bags with a discount coupon, so now I mail almost all non-bound ingredients to them.

    They were exploitable.

Instead of fixing the exploit, they took the easier route and made them BtC. Although the left all the old (and still exploitable) bags out there.

I think they eventually did fix the exploit but by then they probably forgot why they made them BtC *shrugs*

I agree that I'd buy more store bags (and cookie jars) if they were BtA.

its just one of those really NASTY decisions that they are not bound to account.

Marketing managers Greed ruling over 'what would people actually buy and need.

Not gonna get one until they are to account, no point.

I want it to be BTA as well - or, even better, tradable.

Especially since the prices of the biggest bags are almost like the prices of Adventure Packs (this is always my measurement : Is its price lower or higher as an Adventure Pack ? Because Adventure Packs are my personal thing I measure everything gainst. Because they are more important to me than anything else I can buy for TP).

Someone in the marketing department said something like "Hey, if we make these bound to character, we'll sell ten times as many!"

But the real problem isn't the bags, is that the bait-n-switch. They have so many collectables you buy a collectables bag, then they make those collectables only usable in your ingredients bag. If this weren't a video game they'd have a class action lawsuit were a real company to do that IRL.

Usually what is done in a real life situation like this is that the company issues coupons to affected customers (bought a collectables bag) for the replacement product (ingredient bag), but ddo players just get screwed like always.
