Yet this change is announced from the same guy who says that upgrading old epic items, which can take an endless grind to complete, is a waste of Dev time and resources.

Agreed it would be much better if they upgraded old epic items instead of working on an item that will still be left in chests or considered vendor trash.

I believe he said all items will be able to be augmented.

    In your opinion.

Why in the Nine Hells are you wasting your time anyway grind for old outdated Epics anyways when there are far, FAR better things to do and gear to get?

But, it is your time to waste.

    Enjoy.

Not at all sure, but did a goggle per see of feather of sun + mtg and came up with this:
    http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Ca...tiverseid=3526

Or perhaps he just likes ancient history as any D&D designer/dm might:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Icarus

Lot of smarts there, glad to have him.
I liked the sense of humor that he showed.
Anyone with a lot of D&D knowledge has heard the My little pony april fools jokes.

At times he appeared a bit nervous, but hey if I had people posting/sending me stuff complaining that the
he has not made a new and improved "SOS sword" that is almost impossible to get so the uber crowd can be the only one
weilding it, I might be a little nervous too. {Hey, Feather, don't little Chicken Little get you down, lots of folks
    cheering for yah.}

Of great interest to me was the one word answers he gave:
    {Pardon the not perfect quotes}

Are you revisting dragonmarks in the new enhancement update?

    "Yes"

    {Along with a very dramatic laugh with "If all goes according to plan."}

This implies a lot to me, particually that the whole system might be revised/reviewed/ect//

Maybe it will be only action points instead of a feat, that would be sweet?
Maybe there will be more goodies in them?

Will there be blue+white+black epic dragonscale armor (and epic dragons to fight).

    "Yes"

Improved potion of wonders, hmm interesting.
Notice that small amount of speaking time spent on it, showing it probably did not take a whole lot of overall time.

The new augment systems sounds sweet.
I don't understand all of it, but I really like it.
Will all weapons have it, or just certain new ones!??!

Sounds like the stone of change guild augment slots are not going to require you to return to the stone of change?

I love the Idea of the New Augment System.

    Yet:

Convenient click to apply everywhere augments,
make me a bit itchy about the potential
    (ab)uses for (item)(monet)ization.

I might be getting paranoid by now though

Cheers for the basic Idea though

While I appreciate more communication from Turbine through these community videos, I'd appreciate a more in depth exploration of an upcoming feature rather than the broad strokes. The only important-to-me feature that Feather_of_Sun mentioned about augments is the ability to replace them without having to 'clear' the item first. This is fantastic especially when you consider double aug slot items like Epic Boots of Corrosion require you to reslot both augments after clearing it.

What I'd really love to hear about augments:

    1. New effects that will be available. The epic augment system was released 3 years ago and only very minor adjustments were made in the stabilization period afterwards. Players have been requesting new effects for years.

    2. How much will augments cost? Requiring 20-30 tokens and the lack of Epic Dungeon/Raid Tokens in MOTU content is beyond frustrating.

To me, the feature of applying augments from my inventory (without requiring a crafting device) isn't that desirable. Slotting augments is a limited frequency event that requires a ton of grinding.

I'm sure we will get this info as we get closer and closer to them getting it done.

    Patience.

FoS was shaking and really lacked confidence in this video.

Why are you working on potions of wonder? Is that really that important for you to craft 100 random effects? Who cares?

I like the sound of the epic augment revamp, I hope that it is worthwhile.

I'm not convinced that these changes are addressing any shortcomings that are "Quality of Life Impairing".

The current Aug Slot mechanism isn't great, but it's predictable and reliable. Same for Potions of Wonder.

(yes yes - "random effect" and "predictable" may seem to be at odds, but as an example, currently a Potion of Wonder that ends up being a Major SP potion behaves like a Major SP potion and does not sometimes cause kobolds to spawn inside the walls of Shroud Part 1)

If it works the first time it's deployed to Live, where "works" means "doesn't break something else and all 'intended effects' work as documented without requiring a re-write of their original description", it'll be a Welcome Change.

Unless this involves some sort of random application of effects like the original DragonTouched runes or the similarly well received randomly assigned effects on Challenge turn-in loot, in which case it will not be a welcome change.

I hope the Finished Product of this project is finished and not released in an incomplete fashion that is never revisited or completed.

So many things are added to this game that are never finished and we rarely learn what the reasoning was that drove the decisions. Make this time different.

Please also make this worth leaving so many other things unfinished.

    Point taken with the Torc.

Even after making 4 Epic, 1 after the Scroll Trade-In, only wear one now.

I'm sorry to hear that many of you aren't interested in the upcoming patch changes to Potions of Wonder. Although I only mentioned it briefly, I wouldn't have if I had thought it would cause any strife.

While we understand that there is sometimes frustration from people who see work done on something they consider trivial or not to be worthwhile, I would like to dispel the myth that other, more "important" things could have been done instead.

Honestly, under an hour was spent updating Potions of Wonder. I felt it was important to do so, since I had seen some complaints/concerns on the forums since this last update regarding Potions of Wonder- where people formerly would have found one in a chest, they now find five at high levels.

This was an oversight on my part- I had neglected to note that they wouldn't stack in the chest, and that the spread of five potions of wonder listed out one by one might mislead people into thinking that the potions were replacing other, more valuable treasure in the chest, which they do not.

Having seen that concern on the forums, I decided to stay a little later than usual one evening to correct it. It was not a large task, and I feel that it certainly will add a little bit of enjoyment to the game to have Potions of Wonder be a little less predictable. New ones after the next patch will stack together, and will include many different effects such as turning you into a Taken, summoning a friendly creature, or even giving temporary invulnerability.

As for the revamped Augment system:
That's what I expected everyone to be excited about. The system is finished internally with over 300 augments total, available at all level ranges, and we consider it to be already complete and in a well-polished state. The only notable work done on it recently has actually been Eladrin and I redoing the art/icons for the augments.

We don't want to provide too much information this early, as the system will not be making its debut until Update 17. However, I'll work with Tolero to see if we can organize a Dev Diary or other update post specifically to provide information on the upcoming new Augment system as we draw closer to the end of the year.

Obviously I'm a computer geek whom is new to being on camera, so my public speaking skills aren't top notch, but I could let our Community team talk me into another video in the future, since this one was well-received.
