    Default Upgrade Hasn't worked

Well I have upgraded my Wine to 1.5.17 now and reinstalled DDO from scratch and I'm still unable to play.
    yum --enablerepo=updates-testing upgrade wine

    Same old Errors.

    What is the problem???

I have checked and read many posts on here and on the Wine Forums, and this forum and that forum and still not getting anywhere.

I am this close to installing windows as a dual boot.

Unhandled exception: page fault on write access to 0x00000030 in 32-bit code (0x00674622).

I can confirm the 1.5.18 Wine release does fix the page fault exception allowing DDO to load and run. I experienced an extremely long (+5 minutes) shutdown time for the game, but it was around one minute before U16 and Wine 1.5.18. Then again I'm running it on an Asus EEE 1201N with only 3Gb of RAM, so... your mileage may vary.

I am sorry to report that I installed the new build of wine today, 1.5.18, using Wineskin on a mac with Mountain Lion, and still getting the exact same error, any ideas? I am not super knowledgeable of wine, but willing to try anything at this point.

I previously was using a Wine build 1.4 and not wineskin, but all of the latest releases of wine seem to give me compile errors at the libtdl/libphoto dependencies so I switched to Wineskin to save myself the headaches.

    Smile Wine install working fine

Well after much hard work and some patients I got the latest Wine 1.5.18.tar.bz2 and compiled it, installed what ever it was barking about.

    First I removed Wine
    yum -y remove wine*
    rm -rf /home/Your_name/.wine/

Added the testing repository for my build. (Fedora 17).
    Downloaded the New Wine.
    http://www.winehq.org/announce/1.5.18

    cd /To Wherever your DL'ed it to/
    tar xvjf wine.1.5.18.tar.bz2
    cd /wine.1.5.18

    Then Start the compiling.

./configure -- I would read each out put and just installed whatever files or programs it was barking about.
    make
    make install

Once that was done I made sure that I was logged as myself in the Term prompt.
ran .. winecfg and a the window opend .... Yippee . .So Far.
I had a problem with sound, but wasn't concerned about that right now.
I verified it was Wine 1.5.18. Yes
Everything seems Ok so far. closed it and installed winetricks. by this guide.
    http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManage...ation&iId=2910

This time I installed Steam and it seemed like I got a good install finally. I could see the fonts this time and was able to login into my Steam account. The Store Library was populated. Searched for Dungeons and Dragons, installed it and ran it, but Steam coughed some errors, that I couldn't fix at the moment.
Things were looking bleak, but I was determined this day...:-)
I had a backup copy of the old wine Program File dir ( which contained the Turbine and Pylotro dir in it.
Copied that to my new wine build.
    /home/YN/.wine/Program Files
    I then double clicked the pylotro.exe in /home/YN/.wine/Program Files/Pylotro/
AND away it started.. Good So far... Finally loading this time and not Searching for Servers
I finally got to the login screen and was able to see all 5 toons.
    WOW... Great so far... HEHEHE
Clicked on my main man and logged in... and after a minute I was in House P...

SWEET... Went and did some Mabar for a bit, then did some questing for a couple hours solid..
    NICE.
I hope this helps helps some else now.

PLEASE NOTE.... This was done on My system by me and I don't know a great deal for programming but Will try to help

    Default no Sound

Well I did manage to get DDO installed and working with the latest version of Wine (1.5.18)
The only problem I have is NO Sound.

I know this is Not the Wine Forum, But I have posted there and got nowhere.
Just wondering if anyone else had/has sound problems?

If you are familiar with Wine, then on the Audio Tab I have no Sound driver and and cannot select one.

I have Uninstalled Wine and Compiled it from source and I get a Warning at the end stating No Sound card detected.
My Sound works fine.. I am listening to tunes with Audacious right now.
