    Default HELP PLEASE [WINE] dndclient.exe Fails after Update 16

    Hey I have been dealing with a problem when trying to play DDO on my Fedora 17 box.
    I have not had ANY problems playing it for a while now. I am a VIP. I have been enjoying playing DDO on Linux for about a year now.
    I REALLY REALLY DO WISH there was better support for Linux, as it is a better OS, but that's another forum....hehehe

    I just start a couple of days ago, after U16. I have uninstalled/re-installed tried a backup of a backup, with No success.

    THIS is what i get as a Windows (Wine 1.5.16) error

    HELP PLEASE

    Unhandled exception: page fault on write access to 0x00000030 in 32-bit code (0x00674622).

    Default Still not working

    I still cannot play DDO... I have tried to uninstalling/reinstalling a couple of time now tried this patch and that patch but nothing seem to be working..

  4. #4

    Default Problems with u16 as well

    I keep getting the error:

    System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80010105): The server threw an exception.
    at PatchWrapper.CPatcherClass.UseTime()
    at com.turbine.launcher.Services.Patcher.UseTime()

    And yes I've done this and that patch, but it's not been a problem before. I am annoyed.

    So yelling about being VIP is not going to help - DDO is a Windows game, therefore those of us who play in Linux (and like my son - in Mac) under Wine WILL NOT be getting any support from Turbine. Unsupported platform.

    This is a Wine issue - there's an window location error check that was NOT occurring in user32. Prior to SOMETHING that happened in the code in Lotro (first) and now DDO, it had not presented itself.

    WineHQ has a patch for it available, but unless you want to compile it in yourself, you have to wait for the commit to hit the next wine version. I thought about it, but am just gonna wait it out - maybe the break will help me make up my mind whether to keep playing anyway.

    Short of recompiling with the patch yourself, it's a matter of waiting at this point.

    Sorry Didn't mean to Wine (hehehehe) sorry about the pun. I DO just wish that there was a True Linux and MAC version.
    I just HATE it when we are left of things because we know enough to use Linux.

    Yes I have seen that there is a "patch" that you need to compile but if I'm not mistaken that is for Arch Linux, and I use Fedora. I know the commands are different.. I have tried to fix it myself, but I am not an expert...

    I'm having the same problem. The game worked fine until the time of this recent update. I hope this gets fixed soon. I've played DDO for many years now in Linux. This is the first time I've had a problem with it.

    No.

    The patch is for wine. I merely compiled it on Archlinux. Archlinux or fedora is the same thing as far as wine is concerned.

    Calm down. Simply right click your shortcut and choose "run as administrator" . this has worked for me sence update 12 (even after 3 clean reinstalls). Have fun.

    Default Any Fixes out there

    Did any body come up with a good fix and work with Wine 1.5.16

    The only thing I haven't done yet is install Wine 1.5.17 from source code.

    OK, this *is* installing it from source, but it's a step by step walk through specifically tailored to Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit, which has some very annoying complexities to it.

    I'm only an occasional player since ShadowFell, please forgive me if I'm not up to speed on anything that's changed since then.
