    Default Better drops from Breakables?

Has anyone else noticed that we seem to be getting better drops from breakables ( Barrels and crates).

So far today I have gotten the following:

    1. +1 half-plate ( Level 4 Quest on Elite).
    2. +1 Dwarven Axe of Lesser Reptilian Bane ( Level 4 Quest on Elite).
    3. +1 Keen Longsword of Dragon Bane ( Level 7 Quest on Hard).

Update! Apparently this is working as intended! See below!

Break em while ya can, if this is true - cause I'm betting it's a bug. And since it might just be of a benefit to players, it's sure be fixed asap.

I haven't gotten around to DDOing today but I must ask...

Are we still getting Cure light wounds pots from high level quests? I don't think I'm playing the same game anymore without these pots dropping!

Any chance you can clarify the change then? Because a few years back I got a +5 Vicious Khopesh of Pure Good to drop from smashing an ice wall in Prey on the Hunter.... which seemed pretty fancy for a breakable drop, what's different now?

Well Prey of the Hunter was a level 17 Quest, I just completed The Kobold's New Ringleader on Elite and pulled the following:

    1. +2 Longbow.
    2. Minor Mnemonic Enhancer Potion.
    3. +1 Ogre Power Belt of Expedious Retreat.
    4. Plus Several Gems
    5. 2 x Cure Mod Pots

If could run that quest like 10 times before today and I be lucky to pull one Cure Mod Potion.

Only area I remember pulling items from before this update was Sorrow Dusk Isle Wilderness area and Quests.
    Where is my GREATBOW???

Hmmm, someting not included in the release note, or at least I don't remember seeing it in there.

That being said, I guess Zergers wouldn't have even noticed!

Yep, anyone that doesn't break the breakables in heroic/epic jungle of khyber has no idea how easy that extra 15% xp is. I don't bother in wiz king because there are so many rooms I will never go in.

Maybe not, but comment was based on the post I have read by most Zergers ( XP per minut an all).

That being said, I was actually farming favour when +1 Halfplate droped from a barrel I broke, it wasn't untill the 2nd item ( a +1 Dwarven Axe of Lesser Reptilian Bane) dropped that I really started paying attention.

Breakables were boring. There was little reason to bother with them in most quests, since you could earn XP more efficiently in many cases by ignoring them, and thus completing the quest faster.

Making them able to drop items appropriate to the quest CR will make them more relevant for some players.

    TLDR version:
    More fun.

Makes sense. TY for the response.

Although after some of the other changes reported today, I can't help but wonder how long it'll be before we get Box Boosters for better loot - and a popup tip advertizing it in the Store when we break something w/o one.

Speaking of clicking on boxes, when are the various crafting systems up for review? ('Cmon, you knew it was coming, and it has been half a year since the ML calcs diverged as far as output goes, even if we discount the extra steps required.)

True statement, wouldn't turn around unless (like the crates in Cannith) I heard the 'thumpwump' from armor.

I think you are wrong on this, it depends on the quest but many times getting breakables is worth it. Especially when you have an extra people who don't make the quest go any faster (too many chefs in the kitchen), we assign them to breakable duty.

    2 ideas:
How about consider power-ups from breakables for example scaled down versions of the challenge power-ups. Or a regen system similar to diablo 3; red orbs giving small health regen and blue ones for sp. I would suggest only health regen though.

Running around breaking boxes does not add to the excitement or challenge of DDO.
Hell there is a quest that is the only thing you do and I don't find myself running it.
It brings back ninja looting and pug problems where players are spending more time
looting instead of helping the "team" out. Hell last night while I and another player
were killing the boss and his cronies 2 other players were busy looting the chest already......thanks guys really.....can we keep away from this kinda of upgrade.
