Removing the ability to pass loot also reduces the incentive to run some raids that are barely run already even further, due to certain items being only really useful to one or two classes. If you can't even assist friends in getting certain raid items because some people can't handle the occasional bout of loot drama, well... what can I say, the idea just plain sucks.
You think this is a big deal?
My Wizard pulled the Madstone Boots and at the time I had no clue what they were. I left them in the chest for at least 10 minutes while I said 'Hmmm, I have no idea what these are, let me google them before I put them up for roll'. Le google search 'hmmm, ok it seems I don't need them, but then again I do melee sometimes in vampire form, hmmm still not sure if I want to put them up for roll, lemme think .... Oh look, there's that staff with the enchant focus that drops here, I'll trade my boots for that staff'. *Le staff gets looted*. Oh I can't have the staff for madstone boots? Lame ....
Barbarians and fighters in the group are on their knees pleading and begging to have it. A fighter got the thing with necro and enchant focus on it and offered to give me it for the madstone boots, but I looked at that and thought 'No, its worthless to me, the only thing I wanted was the staff'. So after much pondering I finally decided 'actually, I think I will have these boots' ... Yoink, all mine.
One person didn't rage. Two people didn't rage. At least 6 people including the cleric went insane. But I never did put them up for a roll, and no one offered me anything for them. You know if I was a melee and a I wanted madstone boots that badly, Id have at least 10 FRDs or LDSs sat in my bags ready to trade for them, not just waiting for them to be put up for roll. With a serious offer I would have given them away, but then, and even now I won't put something like madstone boots up for roll.
I don't whine in my groups when someone else gets a torc. I will say 'Wow, a torc, I really still need one of them, can I roll for it?'. But if the person that got them decides to loot them, give them to someone else or I lose the roll, I don't whine about it.
Also in a chrono loot run group I was in, someone got a helm of frost in the end chest and put it up for roll. I was only doing it for an end reward item and had already recalled, but this person kept typing 'helm of frost for roll, anyone want it?'. So I rolled for the fun of it. Oh well, no one else rolled and I won the item, too bad I've already recalled. The guy that the helm had dropped for went furious 'OMG you rolled on it when someone else could have had it and just left it in the chest, a new player could have really used that item'- Dude is your brain full of ****? No one wanted it and that's the only reason I rolled. 'Still, I could have looted and sold it to the merchant if no one wanted and got some plat, everyone squelch this rolling troll' - I'll bloody pay you 5000 plat for your massive loss of selling a helm of frost for 50 plat to a merchant, hey look, you'ld be making 100x as much money, but since you already ignored me, too bad.
People are stupid. If someone loots their own loot, they can do that. If someone wins a roll on an item and sells it to the merchant, deletes the item, or leaves it in the chest, they can do that. I've had enough things I wanted left behind in chests and the people already recalled, its not anything worth getting angry about, its just your typical drama rage trolls on Khyber going mad.
I actually roll for everything now even of I don't need it. If I know anyone in the group then its pretty much just an extra roll for them. If I don't know anyone in the group then whether or not I pass them my loot depends on if they were nice enough to me. I play loot karma, I give stuff to you only if I think you deserve it. I'm not bothered about it the other way around, I can farm my own loot and only consider items that directly drop for me as a reliable way of getting my own gear (and that's how I get 90% of my own gear, stuff that drops for me).

Oh loot drama~
I remember that time I didn't get the elemental spirit I needed from a Lord of Blades run.
That's right, I remember every damn time. Haha...whydoyouhatemechest. I'm glad we can pass loot/roll on stuff, because I just don't seem to be able to pull the stuff I need myself.
Yea look at it this way - if you don't get the loot you want, blame the chest or turbine, don't blame the players for doing whatever they want with the loot they get, or if something is put up for roll, don't blame the person that wins.
