Two handed fighting/trap/stealth: Do you really mean two handed fighting or do you mean two weapon fighting? If you mean two handed fighting then a STR & INT rogue assassin is the way to go. Forget all the THF feats and even most of the tactical feats. Your main focus is on the assassination. But, you can break out the big weapon when you want to. But, I think you want two weapon fighting. Dual wielding using the TWF feat line on an assassin is lots of fun. Human works well here. Soloing is a bit of a challenge but again it is a character that should fit into most groups without issues. Late in its life UMD will take care of self sufficiency.
Sword and board: Paladin really is where it is at for this. Fighter is next but really not needed anywhere in the game. You are better off with a THF melee in this slot. Human fighter or barbarian works well. The problem is self healing while soloing. Melee choices are really tough ones if you plan to solo a lot and don't want to go with a paladin. Best option, IMO is a STR based ranger. You get all the TWF feats for free without needing the DEX. You can go with the Tempest PrE for a low DEX investment. Take the khopesh exotic weapon feat for reasonable damage. Or, put a bit more into DEX and go Arcane Archer. Excellent solo ability and by smart use of melee with range fits into any group as well.
