Dunno but nerfed a long time ago and is a complete cakewalk anymore.

You guys filibustering a new mode have already succeeded in scaring the Dev's into not doing it the right way and re-scaling the existing settings, why in the world are you still filibustering? Drunk on your success? Schadenfreude? Spitefulness?

I treasure the time spent in Coyle's company, in that library, almost as much as I treasure bacterial diseases and having something painful and highly visible firmly stuck in between my front teeth.

When you treasure something as much as I treasure time spent in Coyle's company, the totally awesome XPs per minute for that quest no longer mean very much.

    +1000 for what it's worth.

I want to be able to kill Coyle... myself... repeatedly... in a painful way.

No seriously for a long time now that fight has been easy. Almost hard to fail, Coyle is sturdier, power creep has made us stronger, and almost everyone has greater Ocean winds gems.

I banned those quests out of my list (along with a few other PITA's). It's hard to fail when you don't run it at all.
I'll consider running them again when at the end, I can stab Coyle repeatedly and laugh like a maniac while he screams in horror.

Are you kidding me? Sure it's cake on casual at level 25. However, at level, on elite, with a dedicated healer only using his spells to heal Coyle, the gimp still dies in 3 hits. I'm not sure what quest you're running but it wasn't this one. Is it better than before, when you couldn't knock him out, sure, but just because you can say, "back in my day..." bla bla bla doesn't mean this **** quest doesn't suck. And to add insult to injury it's 15 minutes for what 3k w/ 50% tome and 30% pot going. Talk about the worst quest in the game. It is in no way fun. The only purpose to running it is to get a mantle or maybe one of the new upgraded named items that drop now.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, in a game where no one dies because everyone can have a raise dead scroll cast upon them all protect the gimp npc quests, but especially his death, should not fail you in the quest. Treat them like a hire and give us the ability to raise them at the end to complete. Every quest. Every time. No more protect the retarded npc.

I did it with hire elite bb on my pally,he never dropped below 70% and I wasnt knocking him out.
Idk what you talking about but the quest is much much easier since they gave him more hp.

Only ever run it elite for favor a mantle and XP from BB, at level because I want the time pendant asap. I've run it underlevel.

Anyway your ridiculous assumptions and insulting tone make me say: perhaps Coyle wasn't your main problem I wouldn't normally go that route but the quest is nearly HARD to fail in now. And lets face it the game has all sorts of skill levels playing it, you shouldn't assume that everyone has as hard a time.

I don't really care about NPC escort quests one way or another, but I will say that the lowest common denominator would reduce games like this to a staight hallway with easy mobs and a ball-bearing actuated loot dispenser that dollops out raid loot like a gerbil's water feeder.

I did it twice now at level with a pocket healer. 3 hits is a huge exaggeration. the second time, i let him fight a couple waves on his own and he did fine. i think he could have killed quicker with a plastic sword that makes noises when you hit something, but i cheered him on regardless.

the quest before Coyle gives out 20k, give or take depending your xp buffs and how much you maximize your xp in there. Coyle quest blows for xp, but i figure you are still ahead given what other quests at that level give out for the same amount of time.

thanks to the upgrade to Coyle, i now solo the entire Threnal chain and get a ton more xp at those levels and favor than i used to. it may not be popular anymore, but i think people are missing out, honestly.

You could always just whack him on the head then wake him back up repeatedly. I've often wanted to give groupmates that treatment..
