    Default "Woof" Monk

Built this for my monk named Xelo on Cannith server. Decided to share it, currently using it.

"Woof" Build (Monk 9, Druid 9, Fighter 2)
"Drunk" build - i liked the poster suggestion for a name

    lvl | class | feats
    1 (1monk): 2 gen=pwr atk & cleave
    1 monk=stunning fist
    2 (1druid):
    3 (2druid): 1 gen=pastlife monk
    4 (3druid):
    5 (4druid):
6 (5druid): 1 gen= free choice (took maximize while leveling)
    7 (6druid):
    8 (7druid):
    9 (8druid): 1 gen=great cleave
    10 (9druid):
    11 (2monk): 1 monk=dodge
    12 (1 fighter):1 gen=natural fighting 1 1fighter= improved crit blud
    13 (3monk):
    14 (4monk):
    15 (5monk): 1 gen=natural fighting 2
    16 (6monk) 1 monk=free choice (taking toughness probably)
    17 (7monk):
    18 (8monk): 1 gen=natural fighting 3
    19 (9monk):
20 (2fighter): switch power attack for quicken and take powerattack here
    21: epic=overwhelming critical
    24: epic=?? epic toughness

    Gear: Use handwraps

    How to play:
Use winter wolf form (druid nature's warrior) & darkmonk (ninja spy):
    - 1d10 base damage, x3 crit 17-20 range and +W damage from monk levels.
    - Fast movement & attack speed
    - High double strike %
    - Nice buffs (FOM, rams might, various others) and heal (greater vigor, cure crit, 45% no umd heal scroll).
    - Wolf attacks (takedown & baiting bite)
    - Insubstantial from ninja spy I
    - Can exit wolf form if you need bludgeoning type attacks
    - Balanced saves
    - Reaping roar while leveling

    Pros:
Makes swiss cheese out of elite quests

    Cons:
Natural Fighting x3 TOD proc < TWFx3 TOD proc

    Enjoy!

Are you drunk? (sorry, couldn't resist : druid/monk = drunk)

Looks solid. Not sure about your level split though.

12 monk levels will get you tier 2 prestige and tier 3 stances if you're not serious about casting.

6 monk levels will get you your bonus feats, tier 1 prestige, and tier 2 stances if you want moar casting power.

2 monk levels and you get level 9 spells.

You don't understand the mechanics/requirements of how this build works then (need 9 druid levels).

    and
prestige is negligible, ill be using ninja spy I though
I wouldn't call an additional 2d6 sneak attack negligible, though I wouldn't go to 12 monk just for that.

Tier 3 stances are a big jump in power though. Which stances do you plan on using?

If monk=12 then I can not take natural fighting feats then.

Ill have likely be using wind(more dbl strike)/fire(depends on ki gen)/earth stance(tanking) situation depending.

10 monk seems like an unnatural break point to me, as it doesn't really give you anything.

9 is good if you will be utilizing touch of death and improved evasion.

Otherwise, I'd drop to 6 monk levels.

Correct, and 10th monk level could be different but then I don't get monk past life in the event of a TR.

Since you seem to have experience of it; how does monk stuff work in wolf form? Do Ki strikes work? Finishers?

Everything works perfectly including increases to unarmed damage from monk levels, increases to base dmg from wolf form, stunning fist (possibly a shorter range than normally but stunning fist has a short range anyways), cleave, great cleave, sunder, takedown, dmg boost, haste boost, AC bonuses, movement speed bonuses, double strike bonuses, ki attacks (haven't acquired touch of death yet) and finishers. Even spells work well (using vampirism handwraps and put +2 enhancement bonus with magic fang) , just a few problems not having handwrap procs if you switch forms; ex: ghost touch may not stay if you change out of wolf form you need to unequip and equip wrap.

one question i was playing on my monk the other day, finally reached level 21 and gained access to dynamo wraps...
anyways, have you also had trouble getting the lightning strike to proc, i've hit over 1000 times still not a single proc...

Im afraid to say the dynamo just does not work...

can anyone else even the creator of this thread comment on this?

Actually, Druid should appear on the list at the end, so it's below artificer and monk, so 9 levels of monk would still give you past life monk because Druid was the last thing added.
Current TR project -- Anshel life 8 of 20 ending up FVS
Side TR project -- Daciana (life 8 of 14 maybe)(Will be completionist druid)

I am unsure of these mechanics so I didnt want to take any chances.

Edited slightly for 2 fighter levels, currently capped this build.

At level 20 with my gear setup and no epic destinies I'm have 4[1d10] - 17-20 x3 in winter wolf form. ~20-23% double-strike.

Will update again at capped destiny

And what were your starting stats? And what type enhancements, besides PrEs, did you consider must-haves? Very interesting build btw

Just make sure you have enough dex to get dodge and windstance 2, and enough str to get power attack and overwhelming critical. If you want epic toughness you'll have to somehow squeeze in con, i've found this difficult to do but with +4 becoming more common and +5 tomes becoming possible this may be very possible.

I liked ninja spy for for incorp and still use it. I used natures warrior so i could get reaving roar while leveling which is a must have (at cap you can drop it if you choose).

Hi! I like the idea of a drunk monk in wolf clothes and this is my attempt to use it for a 1st life, 28 point character...

    But with the following changes;
Level 1: Toughness instead of Stunning Fist, because i'm still no good at button-smashing and i'd like to get some extra HP earlier.
Level 3: Augment Summoning instead of Past Life: Monk, since i have no TR'ing PC's and for putting some more meat on my pets/hirelings.
Level 16: Toughness again, as i dont know what else could be useful and i like the idea of lots of HPs...
Level 20: Ignore the feat Zen Archery, as I will be doing the same as in the original build.

    Would like constructive criticism / idea's for improvements, like maybe I should;
    - Start with CON 13 and take Human Adaptability Constitution I, to get Racial Toughness III.
    - Put some of the Ability Raise points into WIS, to make spells/abilities better..
    - Maybe some better way to spend points on Skills/Enhancements?!
    - ...

I'd drop augment summoning, pets are just useless and you'd be better off taking something that increases your hit chance or defensive abilities (dodge).

I can attest that this build is fun and works; most importantly, it's not some boring pure class build anyone can think of.

    Good job.
