    Default Dwarven bear

So Im thinking about doing a bear druid using dwarf as the race. Before I build it though: has anyone tested and confirmed weather or not s&b DA and BS get glancing blows in animal form?

If anyone can confirm that for me (not just speculate as to what it should be), here is the build I will use.

    Dwarf-for con and Dwarven axes
    druid 14 / fighter 6

    Str 18
    con 18 or 20
    Wis 14 or 8

1 augment summons switch later for quicken
    3 toughness
    6 shield mastery
    9 improved shield mastery
    12 improved critical
    15 empower healing
    18 natural fighting
    21 natural fighting
    24 natural fighting

    Fighter bonus feats
    1 power attack
    2 THF
    4 ITHF
    6 GTHF

Feedback (other than bears suck dont do it, because I know already) would be appreciated.

Edit: If the DA weilding bear does not proc glancing blows then the whole idea gets scrapped.

    Bears do NOT suck! :-D

That being said, I am not 100% sure about glancing blows in animal form, but I have never seen it happen. I am pretty sure that I had seen no glancing blows in animal form no matter the situation. But then, I am just speculating and not helping the case. I do know, however, that I have seen special effects from my shield while in bear form (Bone Shield has proced many times with negative energy burst), FWIW.

THF does nothing in animal form. You are unarmed. 100% unarmed. If you are going to be running bear form all the time, go with weapon focus bludgeon, IC:B, and you already took the other feats I would suggest.

Again, bears DO NOT suck. Cleave+Tremor+Paralyzing Weapon+Reaving Roar= DEAD THINGS EVERYWHERE! My bear is usually tops in kills in groups, and has almost 600 hp buffed at level 14.

Glancing blows do not proc in animal form; neither do offhand atks, rendering the THF & TWF feats useless to bear / wolf-based builds. Only the double-strike bonuses from Natural Fighting and Shield Mastery feats apply. Furthermore, your base weapon dmg & crit profile is based on your animal form, not which weapon(s) you're holding when you shapeshift, but the magical effects from your mainhand weapon will carry over; so a Flaming Burst dagger will add just as much to your animal-form DPS as a Flaming Burst dwarven axe. [Not sure if non-proficiency penalties carry over into animal form; i.e., if I equipped a khopesh or b.sword on this build, would I take a -4 to-hit while shape-shifted?]

FWIW, I'm trying to come up with a dwarven bear hate-tank; right now I'm leaning towards druid 13 / ftr 6 / wiz or monk 1 (NW II / SD I), simply because of all the feats I want. I'm hoping to swap SD I for Dwarven Defender someday; without DD, human makes more sense (for extra feat & heal amp), or possibly HE. HO would also work OK, I think: racial threat amp and Power Atk enhs.

This one I know has no effect. I have no proficiency in dwarven axes but have used one with no penalties. It says in the item description that there will be a penalty, but my attacks all where the same with that and with something else.
