    there is always epic norm?

but wait? with the (stupid) new loot mechanic its not a matter of it will take you longer farming norm over and over rather then the higher drop chances of hard and elite. its the fact that even if it drops on norm it will never be as good as something you could get on hard or elite.

new loot mechanic is crapy, the best will get the best gear, the worst will get the worst, the divide between the two grows.

While you're at it, got any other complaints?

If that's all you can do with your PM, then you've done something wrong. Besides, neither the PrE nor the ED are "Devoted to" making instakills viable in combat.

Blanket immunity mobs have been added and then removed so many times now. I guess the plan is to just keep trying it until players just don't care enough any more to complain about it.

There are a few quests where you need to kill the caster before they see you, or they will cast deathward.

Besides Overgrowth are you running into this on other quests?
    I have not, so far.

EDIT: I haven't done any of the new U15 quests as of yet. I started them last night, promptly got hit by an incurable disease, and spent the next 15 minutes trying to figure out how to get rid of it. I ended up using /death, which was the only thing that fixed the issue. After looking around on the forums and seeing all the bugs leading to no completions, I gave up on them until they work as expected.

It wouldn't be a big deal if Dispel Magic did anything. I've only ever been able to remove player affects from mobs with Greater Dispelling - it doesn't even give me a dice roll for anything they have, like Deathward. Also, many combat affects, such as Sundered Armor count as magical affects - so when I try to dispel a Deathward, I end up dispelling 3x Sundered Armor, then Tharak Corrosion, then 2x Divine Punishment, then.... nothing!

Bug reported several times, I give up.

    You are a wizard.

    Switch spells...

Try Horrid Wilting, Prismatic Spray, etc.

Not to mention that Epic Elite isn't *that* hard for dungeons. Raids sure but as a wizard you can pretty much solo elites, even if you aren't "the best of the best"

Is the OP complaining that all mobs are perma-deathwarded or that there are casters that very quickly cast death ward on the mobs? Casters casting the spell is just fine.

I find blanket enchantment immunities more annoying. I can do other things with a wizard than instant kill when it's not possible but my CHA bard has a lot more issues when enchantments don't work.

You assume casters know how to use more the Haste, Rage, FoD, and Wail.

So let me get this straight.
    1. You want an Easy button.
    2. You only have one character to run through these quests.
    3. Your one character can only insta-kill and nothing else.

    Suggestions:
    1. Easy buttons are there but only in certain quests for a PM.
    2. Roll another character that can solo these on EH because if you want the loot, its only BTCoE so anyone can pull it.
    3. Last time I checked, a PM can do much more than just insta-kill.

If it's orange named, cast a dot, energy drain, crushing despair, hypnotism, mass hold, energy drain, dot again and keep dotting until it's dead. Works on 90% of the cases.

Not seeing a blanket Deathward. I've been through those quests on EH with my caster, instakilling like crazy. The Dire Bears have monster saves so you need to hit them with an energy drain first unless you have godly DC's (I don't; on my first life and only hit 45 for necro on my AM at the moment) but everything else dies just fine. The Primal Wisps are a problem because they have ludicrous spell resistance; you need to DPS them to death (force damage FTW). I failed to get through wisp SR on a spell pen check result of 56 so I don't even try any more.

The orange-named Druids will Deathward themselves if you give them a chance, so don't give them a chance. If you target them from a distance and cast as soon as you're in range, they're toast. If you're quick on the trigger-finger, you can usually use Enervation and FoD for a pretty-much-guaranteed kill.

To paraphrase Storm: "You know what happens to a Druid that's struck by Finger of Death? Same thing that happens to everything else..."

Believe me, I'd be miserable if they'd made everything immune to instakilling in those quests - it's tough enough with all the plant creatures being immune to mind-affecting spells and the wisps effectively immune to anything requiring a spell pen check (at least on my toon) - but they haven't. And the immunities they do have are fair enough; they're straight out of DnD canon. I do agree, however, that when mobs cast Deathward (which is just fine, why shouldn't they?) they should be subject to having it dispelled. Turnabout is fair play

I know a lot of people aren't happy with the quest design and such, but some of them are really pretty and I for one am actually quite enjoying having to serve up spell combos in order to take some of the mobs down. My finger-in-the-wind estimate is that about 50% of mobs can be instakilled with no prep, 25% need a combination of spells before they go down and 25% you just gotta kill in the face until they die from it. Seems like a good mix to me!

Im not seeing blanket deathward, but I do see mobs appropriately deathwarded from time to time if their class would have the buff or if they are near a mob with a class that would.
Advocating repeated nerfs in the name of "balancing the game" then complaining about how DDO is moving away from D&D, is a direct contradiction in logic - D&D 3.5 (what DDO is based on) is not a balanced game. We can either have a balanced clone MMO with homogenized classes, or we can have a D&D game. We cant have both.

Right. It's cast, not blanket. The 'problem' is no worse than drow priestesses and not as bad as Gianthold Tor. A litte bit of stealth and some care with neutralising the divines works wonders.

Signed: someone who relies 90% on negative energy SLAs and would indeed be beyond frustrated for them to stop working entirely.

I also heartily recommend wilting when they get it off. Force bonuses work on it now and it uses your Necro DCs. There's even plants around! i'm also considering Enlarge for improved priestess/druid sniping when my dodgy stealth isn't cutting it...

    THIS!!!

I can get completely de-buffed by enemy casters yet I cannot remove a cast Death Ward with Greater Dispel Magic? How does that make sense? What good is GDM anyway? Turbine needs to stop adding content and play some of the stuff that is broken.
