    [v] is for Vendetta.

If you see [c] it is for cookie.

I'm gonna ignore the jokesters. I take it to mean the spelling of elf - elves. If that's not what it means, I have no idea

It started when Artificers were brought it, its just a display thing and as far as I remember (There was a Developer comment on it a while back, somewhere) it doesn't stand for anything specific. My guess is its just a note in their database and the SQL (If Turbine uses SQL) command doesn't remove it as it should.

    Done, and mystery solved!

One of our web dev folks says it looks like there's a bit of stray multi-language-support stuff being erroneously displayed for some characters in the DDO Lottery. Ultimately, nothing to worry about. We'll see about fixing it, of course, but just thought I'd mention that while I agree the [v] is often used to mark vegetarian options on menus, your characters are indeed not made out of textured vegetable protein.
SQL stuff, multi-language-support stuff, at the end of the day its all the same; confusing.
