Incidentally, I realized there is one setting that can be played with if you'd like a "Turbine time" clock...

In the forums if you go to User CP -> Edit Options -> Date & Time Options, you can select time zone and select "account for daylight savings time". Soooooo if you pick "(GMT -5:00) Eastern Time (US, Canada), Bogota, Lima" and then select "Automatically Detect DST" this *should* give you Turbine time on the forum time stamp at the bottom of the forums. (For testing purposes, time in the office as of this post is 11:09)

I think I'm currently living in the last and only place left in the continental US that doesnt do daylight savings. I like it - I never have to mess with my clocks, and as nice as gaining that hour is in the fall, losing that hour in the spring is painful, so worth not doing in the first place. Besides, daylight savings isn't needed anymore.

Nah, they have it wrong. They were awesome and had no daylight savings and then somehow decided to start doing it, so that makes it worse . Now we Arizonians, we have it right

Made a suggestion about adding an in-game /time command a while back http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=304482 & still think it'd be useful & presumably doable.

    Well hello fellow ex-hoosier.

Yeah, businesses in the rest of the U.S., never mind the world, had a hard time wrapping their head around that idea, I'm glad we finally changed.

Now the only two states that don't change times in the U.S. are the ones with the best excuses (Arizona and Hawaii).

Quick Suggestion for whoever feels like implementing it, preferably along with any announcements:

Someone could always plug the details of any scheduled downtime or other any other event (Dev events on Lammania come to mind) into this: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedform.html
and then post a link to the results, so you can get the results for everywhere quickly without people having to work them all out for their own time zone based on a time zone they don't know.

I know I would find that much more useful that trying to work out the time difference every time.

To Give an example of the last Downtime check this link.

Disclaimer: The figures I entered may not be 100% accurate, Time zones are confusing and I live in the UK, but I am fairly Certain that Orlando Florida is Eastern

You could probably spend less time using something like this to post downtime and other stuff. would certainly cut down on these sorts of threads you have to spend time reading and replying too...

    +1 to OP

It is always somewhat wrong ingame and in this site.

In the site i gotta use gmt+2 to actually get gmt+1.

And the announcements ingame usually tells one hours less than real gmt time.

With most Windows based computers, you can show more than one time zone in your tray. I have GMT -8 (Hawaii), GMT +8 (Singapore), and GMT -5 (Eastern) and I just mouse-over to see them all.

You can also download apps or gadgets to show them as well.
Oh, that's easy. I didn't farm them. I just cheated. -Meghan

Clocks in England during British Summer Time are GMT+1. GMT itself doesn't ever move by an hour.

It's true that with the varying times of British Summer Time and US Daylight Saving Time, US Eastern clocks and English clocks may be anywhere from 4 to 6 hours apart during the year. But that's because English clocks aren't always set to GMT.
Nibor is indeed correct in his assessment... which is why we're currently set to -4 GMT in our postings. However, thanks for your concern and thanks for pointing it out to us! We try to be very careful with this.

Also, if you guys ever need a time check, you can actually ask in Google "what time is it in X." As we are in boston, you can just type in "What time is it in Boston?" to get an idea of the difference from our time from your own local time.
