    Default Character transfer from one to another server... Why is it not working?

    Tried to transfer a toon of mine from one to another server couple of days ago.

    Paid service, which I don't mind. Filled out the form and got a confirmation email that it will take 3-5 days. Also ok.

    I logged on yesterday and noticed that Turbine deducted 2995 tp for the transfer service from my account but the toon wasn't transferred.

    I replied to the ticket that was running asking what happened .. 24 hrs later I get a reply saying that transfers don't work and that the TP have been credited to my account again.

    Why doesn't the transfer work? Has anyone else had similar troubles ?

    With character transfers, sometimes some characters cannot be transferred due to a technical difficulty. This is something that we are aware of and are working to fix it. Once we have it fixed, we will make an announcement to let everyone know to try the transfer again.

    Thank you for your feedback.

    However, it seems that only transfers from Wayfinder to other servers seem to be the ones that are not working.

    I think it has something to do with going back to a server of origin for a character.

    I am also awaiting a fix so I can transfer back to Sarlona from Cannith.

    Its not exclusive to Wayfinder.

    My husband and I transferred some toons from Orien to Sarlona. One of his couldnt make the transfer. He tried three times, that toon will just NOT do it. We never really got an expination what the issue is, only that there is some sort of technical problem and poor Betelgeuse was abandoned.

    The toon i wanted to transfer was created on Wayfinder ... so would be a first time transfer ...

    Strange that some can be transferred and some not ... Hope they get it fixed sometime soon.

    Don't know if you got your characther transfered, but i'm having the same issue.
    I've been tring to transfer 2 characters from Thellanis to Ghallanda since December and have allways the same answer, they have "Technical limitations". One of those characters was original created in thelanis, the other was tranfers to thellanis a year ago.

    I can't not understant this kind of Delay in a service that i'm paying for...

    been told by another player that they had a toon transfered from Wayfinder to Orien recently.

    can you confirm transfers are now working ? if yes, i'd apply again.

    If you were told that you ran into a technical error, then we have not been able to fix that yet. We are still working on it. As far as I understand its not a Wayfinder exclusive error that the Paid Services team is running into. It is some type of technical error when trying to transfer the characters that happen during the process.

    Once we have that error fixed, we'll make an announcement to let everyone know.

    Are we making any progress on fixing that error yet? I'm dying here, waiting to get my toons transferred. *Extremely sad, miserable panda face* I know you said wait for an announcement, but waiting with no news, not even a 'keep your chin up, we're getting there' is horrible! :'(

    Last thing I heard from another player was that Turbine is working on it and that they try to have it fixed by the time next up-date comes out ... Well, if that's really the case I don't know ... Let's wait and see.

    That link for 'sticky threads' says the thread is closed. It does not say anything is wrong with character transfers. It's been months since I've been trying to get my characters transferred. Isn't there anyone in your department that can give me a straight answer and tell me what's going on, what's being done to fix this issue, and when I can stop spending money on turbine points that are apparently useless for a service that is inexplicably not working? I'm very very frustrated here. Please help!!!

    Hi! That's the response I've been getting that's bothering me. I haven't seen anything on the forum that says transfers are broken/bugged, so why would there be a forum that says it's fixed? What is the bug? Is it really being worked on? I've been trying for months to get some of these characters transferred. Is it the same bug now that it was months ago? How long is it estimated until this bug is fixed and I can get my characters transferred? Am I supposed to search the forums every day for the next x-amount of days/months/years until a message randomly pops up and says the bug, which no one knows what it is, is fixed? This is extremely frustrating. Please, a little detail and a little hope can go a long way here. Thanks!

    And now I've pretty much given up on it. I transferred all of my toons to Wayfinder from Thelanis when it first opened. It seemed an exciting opportunity to help build a new server from the ground up. First characters, first guilds. But the population was incredibly small, close to a year in - and still is today. So I went with my wife over to Argo just to try it out. The population was immense compared to Wayfinder. A lot like Thelanis. We made friends, and now have a family guild. Turbine was nice enough to transfer two of her toons and three of mine, but we each still have 4 to 5 main play toons that we've worked on for years, that we can't do anything with because of some mysterious 'technical limitation'. It's very frustrating. It's beyond frustrating. I put a lot of work into my toons, and I know my wife is as attached to hers as I am mine. Sure, I made the mistake of transferring them in the first place, but now I feel like I'm being punished. Turbine might as well just delete my characters, it'd be about the same fate as having them stuck in the purgatory known as Wayfinder. Anywho, I'm a bit upset atm, so I'm going to shut up now.

    Hey mate,

    I have given up on it long time ago and started anew on Orien. I got so tired of receiving the same automated response over and over from Turbine. Sad though, as a paying customer I would have expected a bit more from them.

    Anyways, how did you manage to transfer at least a couple of your toons? I only wanted to transfer two and none of them made it across to Orien.

    Had one where they deducted the fees from my account for the transfer, but the toon never showed up on Orien. But that's a different story I guess.

    If they deducted the fee and no toon was transferred, the faq says it's supposed to be refunded. I'd look into that if it wasn't. As for the other toons that I had successfully transferred, I just went through the list starting with the first toon in the list, and attempted a transfer. It failed, I moved to the next one, and so on. Made it all the way through the list with all failures. The second time I went through the list, two made it, but the rest failed. The next three times through the remaining list, all failures. I keep trying every now and then, since they won't give me (or us) any info on it, I have to hold out hope that there really is someone working on it, and maybe just maybe I'll get lucky and another toon (PLEASE, I want my Bard!!!) will make it. I did the same thing with my wife's account, with the same result. Nothing first time around, two toons worked the second, none each additional time. Anywho, I wouldn't give up. It's worth it to keep trying. What's the worst that happens, it doesn't go through? Again? Lol!

    We didn't have that problem. In fact we knew from the refund in the bank account before we even logged in that something had gone wrong for one of the toons. The others did make it over though.

    Hey! Just wanted to toss out an update! Since the last time I posted, they retried to put through all of my wife's and I's toons. One of mine showed up out of that attempt, kinda' surprised me. One day logged in, there he was sitting on my Argo character list. About a week ago I re-attempted to put through a transfer request for one of my wife's toons, but instead of the german ticket page, I used the english one - for starting server, since they don't have 'wayfinder' as a choice, I used 'unknown/none' - and amazingly enough, she was transferred yesterday. Both of these were toons that had previously had the 'technical limitation' problem, but now they're okay. I haven't tried any more of our problem characters, but I'm planning on putting a ticket each in for us on Tuesday to see if they go through. The two toons we both want the most still had problems last time I tried. Will update. Be safe all, have fun! ^_^

    I placed 4 character transfer requests for characters I brought some 2 years ago from Thelanis to Khyber requesting to go back to Thelanis. After 2 weeks I receive two emails with the "technical limitations" issue and that they can't be transferred. I have yet to hear about the other two.

    If this was an issue they were investigating back in May of 2012 I can't believe there isn't yet a resolution.

    My concern is that these characters have an embarrassing amount of hours invested in them. Some up to 14 lives. My interest in starting that from scratch would be 0 and probably cause me to unsubscribe. If I could still play these characters with all the friends I still have on Thelanis I would keep on trucking as a VIP.

    I really hope that there can be some work around or something for this long, long lasting issue.

    I have a Character Transfer pending atm. Has been 15 days so far and only recieved the initial confirmation email.
    Things are probably a bit busy at Turbine, so havent lost my hopes yet... And the character has copied onto
    Lamania successfully two times in the past. I just hope it will be done sometime before U17 hits 8)

    i wouldn't use the transfer method til turbine creates a post/fix for it
    psykopeta - hoarding pl, for the sake of hoarding, the day i become ubercompletionist will be because there isn't anything to delay it more - thelanis, where the gimps claim to be pros and noobs claim to be pros, no newbies allowed(unless they claim to be pros), we have enough drama w/o them. PS i'm not a pro, maybe if i reincarnate in RL...
